I am 60 years old - but never heard a better Piano sound in my whole life!
Of course. It's a Yamaha. Screw Steinway! Although, the mic makes this piano sound like a Yamaha CP70 or CP80, electric pianos Yamaha introduced in 1978.
@@victoza9232 Yeah, I think this is a Yamaha Grand CFX. They sound very bright, metallic and crisp. Just perfect for this piece. Cost around 250,000 USD haha.
@@BrawndoQC Actually, the list price for a CFX is $179,999, but this is not at all what a CFX should sound like. A CFX sounds vastly better than this. The metallic sound in this video is more a factor of mic placement and mixing, and not the piano itself.

I've listened to many phenomenal pianists over the years, but NEVER have I witnessed one with as powerful a left hand as this kid. He just grinds out rhythms and his beat is so clear and driving. Man oh man.

Not very complex melodically though... A lot of it are just riffs. But I agree that playing it fast is not easy.

Uh, FYI - no vintage here. This composition was written by Luca himself five years ago. A modern day 'walkin' bass' / boogie woogie played to perfection. Keepin' the vibe alive. :-)

I can't even imagine the amount of time it would take for this muscle memory, cut to 3/4's finished when he's bobbing his head and looking into the audience without a care in the world, loving every second of it, never missing a note. Ultimate skill and dedication, gets me glossy every time I watch it! "Bah ba daaaa....!"
It's a good thing Luca's playing an acoustic piano here, and not an electric one. Otherwise, he would be blowing every circuit breaker in the building. Wow. What an amazing talent.
I remember Luca from an old video playing Swanee River Boogie, when he was like 14 y.o. Wow! He grew up and became a piano master! These talented, young gentlemen must become more popular! Well done both!

As a fellow pianist, I can tell you if you become 1/10 th as good as Luca, you will still be fantastic! You WILL get better, all you have to do is practice.
Remember first watching this guy about 6 years ago on youtube and he was amazing then,have really enjoyed seeing his ' rise to fame '

And if you like to share your playing with us, don't dare to compare yourself with others to put your own skills down. That ain't fair. We all start somewhere, let's walk the lonely road together! Besides, you play very well, perhaps try something of your own, it is always harder to do a cover or play a known song.

I've listened to this over and over and it gets better every time, the first time was a thrill ride, so much going on all at once never knowing which way it would go next, but after hearing it many times it's even better knowing what coming up next
I first saw Luca a few years ago on TH-cam playing piano as a teen and was impressed. Then later and a bit older and still I was impressed, but thought then that that was probably it for him and his creativity. THEN I saw him play this Live Duo...he brought tears to my eyes wishing I could play like that when I was his age. Wow.
