      Too bad you don't have a bitchute Channel or put videos on other platforms besides twitch, TH-cam or Facebook. I say this because I'm getting tired of them and I'm preparing to leave them. Especially now that the TH-cam app has pretty much done away with the option to stop the auto-play. They've made it mandatory in their app on the phone. This really irks me.

    • @InquisitorThomas
      @InquisitorThomas 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      That is kinda my problem with them, you’re right they should be busy, how many Lichs are there in the Forgotten Realm? How many of those Lichs have been killed by an Inevitable? You can’t have Inevitables deal with Villains or else you wouldn’t have high level adventures, but if the Player Characters do something that the Inevitables don’t like then the Inevitables will be on the PCs’ case, because that actually results in conflicts and story. They’re a tool that never gets used because they’d just solve all problems in the universe.

    • @De-eggs
      @De-eggs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @@InquisitorThomas For myself, I find the best is a middle ground. As far as I can tell, with the exception of the ones who defend gods, the inevitables do not automatically know where their targets are. Nor can they instantly transport themselves to it. I find it very likely that in most cases, adventurers and such deal with most problems before inevitables can get involved. Another thing to note is that an overly literal reading of their roles might be the most accurate. For example, with the ones that track down Liches, it says they hunt those who unnatually extend their life. So would one be sent out immediately once a lich is made? Or would it only go once the creature has lived past what would be its natural lifespan? A human might normally live for 80 ish years but surely human druids and monks won't be hunted down for having timeless body? So, by how much must a creature exceed their lifespan in order to draw the attention of an inevitable? Respecting the time it takes for inevitables to do their job, as well as the difficulty in stoping threats of that strength leaves a lot of time for adventurers to do their job and still helps trend the planes towards balance. Maybe the lich hunters only step in after 1000 years, plenty enough time for them to destroy everything the PCs know and love, but still eventually bringing order. Not to mention that creatures of chaos might be partial to messing with them and eating their time.

    There is a six type of Inevitable, it is mentioned in the 3.5E sourcebook Sandstorm. You forgot the anhydruts the inevitables of natural order. A friend wrote a city of mages in the middle of the desert constantly being attacked by robot scorpions after they used a decanter of endless water as well as other spells to tera-form the area to be livable, probably the only reason I even know about them.

    • @Reddotzebra
      @Reddotzebra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They dislike decanters of endless water in general, you wouldn't believe how angry they get when you magically create a dam at the entrance to a dungeon or ten and then lead with a wall of water, if you're a druid you can also do some downright obscene things with lower level spells and that thing. It's probably the magic item that most DMs have removed from the random drop table in games I've been in.
      I even created an amphibious mage entirely built around the decanter and various wall spells, and after the fifth mass drowning incident he was mysteriously transformed to scorpion chow.
