Flight 5191 was a COMAIR CRJ 200 that took off on the wrong runway. It was too short and the plane went off the end striking fence and trees. All were killed except the First Officer. He had amnesia from head injuries.
Can confirm. Flight 5191 took off from Bluegrass Airport in Lexington Kentucky which is my local airport. The flight was taking off pre-dawn so lighting was an issue. The pilot aligned on the wrong runway, then handed over the aircraft to the co-pilot who attempted takeoff from the runway that was too short. Everyone but the copilot died, presumably most of them from the fire that engulfed the aircraft. The co-pilot suffered major injuries including multiple broken bones, brain damage, and an amputated leg due to the crash. There were 48 fatalities, including the couple married the day before.
I noticed that Anthony Deaton listed on the black stone died when he was only 22. I could not find an obituary for him. The older brother, Jeremy Deaton, apparently died of a fentanyl overdose in a garage in Lexington KY on Feb. 8, 2016. The man responsible for selling him the fentanyl was sentenced to life in prison for causing his death.
When I die, I want a random boulder as a headstone. And I want someone to write on it "Gravestones cheer the living, dear, they're no use to the dead."

When the driver of the other car fell asleep, he careened into my mother’s car. He killed her instantly; and my 11 year old niece died two days later in the hospital. He walked away with two broken ribs. I walked away with two broken hearts.

I’m from London Ky, this is a cemetery in the city limits. London has some wealthy people but the rest of us are hard working people getting by the best we can.

My grandparents have a black granite headstone. It was placed there in 2004. Prior to that my grandfather had his own he passed in 1963. When grandma died in 2004 we replaced it with the new one and it still looks beautiful 20 yrs later

My mother died in 2006 and had a very beautiful black stone with her photograph. It's been 18 years as of yesterday and her stone hasn't stood the test of time. I'd love to replace it with something that will last.

The couple who died in the air crash deserved many years together. That crash was 100% preventable. The crew spent their time on the tarmac and taxiway blabbing about everything except their flight - especially the co-pilot, who was the only survivor. The idiots ignored signage, went across the lighted runway, and took off in the dark from an unlit runway, even remarking it was odd the lights weren’t on! And they had flown in and out of here before. It wasn’t a new airport for them.
There was a couple who married and was hit by a train after they left the church and died. I was just a kid. Im old now 72. Back then there weren't the safety measures and bells and horns like today. You still have to watch the old backroads even today.😢
I live in a rural area so I'm familiar with crossings with no lights. and 72 is not that old your only as old as you feel. I'm almost 60 so not that much younger. Glad you are enjoying my videos

I hate driving through the countryside and seeing those cemeteries that don't allow beautiful headstones like this. Just the flat grave markers that are easier to run the mower over. It's so sad and empty feeling.
My husband wanted a headstone so, we are being buried in an area where stones are allowed. I designed our stone. Took a year and a half and it’s now standing with our names on it. There are generally areas in cemeteries where a tall stone may be placed.
What year did that young lady die? I hope it wasn't a drunk driver that she got into accident with!! I couldn't read her stone!! But I do believe she was 16 years old!! So young!!

Seems like alot of folks died pretty young here. People who are 10 years or more younger than i am now. So sad. Also reminds me of my own mortality. I was born in 1968.

Its very hard to maintain when you do not have the budget to do more. Many older cemeteries depend on volunteers.

THe first couple's grave markers need to be fixed, One side is sinking and unless it is resolved there is going to be catastrophic damage.
I did see a worker there they know about it so hopefully it will be fixed
The money spent on these headstones could feed so many people.
If they want to spend that money on their loved ones, that’s their business. It’s not everyone’s job to take care of everyone.

The colored stones are hand-painted with a special paint designed for this purpose, and this is obviously very expensive.
