I feel the sentence is too severe, although he lost his life, it is an awful case. I wonder did the marriage counseling pick the mind too much, she went to Al anon and he went to AA. Those groups aren't for everybody, people can sometimes feed into the anger, in a group of people. They might be still married had they left well enough alone, and struggled on in their own way, the groups might have aggravated the situation instead of helping them. I feel very bad for her, she loved him, no matter what way we look at it, he was her husband, and she didn't want to lose him. She snapped, it wasn't premeditated. So so sad. Rest in peace on his soul.

If your spouse or partner cheated on you, it’s best to separate because we’re just human, we can always FORGIVE but our brains CAN’T ALWAYS FORGET and everytime you get into an argument, that cheating incident will always be brought up and things can get heated just like what happened in this case.

I agree, as much as we did not end our marriage, the relationship never was the truly healed, we stayed together for the family, but now as they are all grown, we are left with a very, very, superficial relationship. Would, with hindsight, been wiser to have gone in different directions, in our case, over 40 years ago. 😢😢 makes me feel very sad,

It seems to me that she could not get over the affair and it ate her up on a daily basis until she snapped in the most awful way. I haven't seen any tears from her. She is so bitter and extremely selfish in my opinion.

You can see in this situation that the wife was NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO ACCEPT THE AFFAIR - No Matter What Corrections The Husband Tried - - To Improve with the Family and Make Amends - - Cheating in a committed relationship is USUALLY A DEAL BREAKING - Not Fixable Occurrence. That Being Said - - Her Inability to Get Past It - - Not Get Therapy For HERSELF and Maybe Even for the Kids - - Her OBSESSION with AGGRESSING and INTRUDING Upon the Normal Boundaries of the Mistress - -Who Was As Kind About The Issue as Possible and DID NOT DRAG OUT THE AFFAIR - - Was a TELL THAT SOMETHING BAD WAS IN THE PIPELINE - - This Was NEVER GOING TO END WITH EVERYONE GETTING ALONG AND MOVING ON. I appreciate the pain this wife felt - - that is not however acceptable reason to abuse the other woman and then act out with violence toward the husband. The Son & Daughter Were Also Very Harmed in this Bad Family Situation - - I Pray For Them To Get Mental Health Counseling and Send Love to Them Both.

It's a wonder how often a family household husband... actually sticks with a spouse as Christine's described... and especially a husband of whom's willing to cheat on their wife at that.... It was mentioned that Michael appeared to have marks on his face on however many multiple occasions.... That said, you'd think at some point that he would've developed at least something of a premonition in order to see such attacks coming, but on the other hand that is... it would easy to see how he'd be vulnerable to being actually physically attacked, if he himself was indeed also engaging in an attack of his own and absorbed a strike or scratch in the midst.. Michael at least appears well capable of deflecting and subsuing the worst of physically provoking advances made by Christine, but ultimately the claim is that she even successfully surprised him with a knife.... Could be anyways, good question still on my part in all. However, lastly, it's a wonder if an individual performing a protective "community" based occupation (such as fire, police crew or even such as military or political figures for that matter) would have more incentive to cover their bad deeds up for the sake of their reputation.
