I'm not telling that someone should or have to feel anything. And you can feel ASMR without seeing a person :) Sometimes is just about sounds, or objects. And sometimes it happens in random videos like these, or IRL :)

THANK YOU! I have always wondered what that euphoric feeling in the back of my head was when I watch people do certain things! Its better than opiates and I had no idea what it was. My whole life Ive wondered if other people get it. Its literally the same feeling as doing oxycontin (which I dont do anymore thankfully).
I have a couple tips, because I know you really do want to do this again. First keep that buttress at the bottom of the lower section, until the very end, to help support upper sections as you throw. Need as much contact to the bat as possible as the torque being applied to the piece moves upward. Use less water! When your drying the lower section wrap the top couple inches in plastic to keep it wet. If the joining sections are wet enough then slip is not needed and the seemed section can still be manipulated. Can make a tongue and groove like shape in the rims of the joining sections to help adhere and align sections. If one is joining two dry sections the chances of the seam splitting when shaping becomes greater. Usually one would want each additional section to be lighter than the section doing the supporting. And try to not leave an abundance of weight at bottom of upper piece that is stacked on top. Typically I did this thinking I would have plenty of clay to form a really tall neck. But, in practice it just puts so much stress on the lower sections that it typically hurts more than it helps. Can always add a little more clay for a neck at the end. Also, one coil at a time could be added and thrown in making it easier to control overall shape.

I didn't think it was ugly; some beautiful tall flowers with long stems and that pot is PERFECT! Hoping to get into throwing pottery one day. Just so busy with school now that time just isn't there. :) Love watching your videos!

I've tried several multi-section pieces. I'm sure I look much the same working out how to actually get them stacked. I have found if I leave a little extra in the top of the bottom section I can get a good pull through the seam and any imperfections seem to work out. I'll let you know exactly how to master it in in about 20 years when I figure it out. :)
But we want you to perfect it so we can learn from you. LOLLL I think you did a excellent job for the first time. It didn't fly of the wheel or clasps. Thanks for sharing. Have a good one.
As I studied pottery for 4 years in New Zealand I am fully aware of what you do and still find it extremely satisfying to watch. I can never get enough of it. Great stuff you do. You got my attention. :-) Do you fire in a gas kiln or electric? Your shapes and forms really lend themselves to wood firing too.

Since I do a lot of 2 piece or three piece vases here are some pointers. It’s better To throw the bottom first and mic it then let it dry if not in a hurry. You need to throw dry or use more slip water is terrible with this style. Second when you make the top the next day, don’t let it dry overnight, it’s too hard to shape and seal the seams, idea is it to be seamless and never tell. When you mix the top piece do about a half inch less or 1/4 per side. Then make a valley with tour finger. This gives you extra clay inside and outside to throw downward to seal the edges and you don’t have to slip and score it because the top is fresh thrown. The bottom just wet sponge the very top and do not let water roll down. After you make the small valley, the center of that valley will equal the width of the lower pot. Once this is ready use a screw driver or flat putty knife to get the extra clay from the inside and use a diamond tool to edge the bottom of the top piece. This gives a place for your wire and super easy to cut. When you set it on top, turn tour wheel on slow and center the top piece with a needle tool, this helps keep them straight. Once done, use your chest to hold the bat so you can see the groove for the wire. When you cut the bat off should just show the ring of clay which is good. Wet the very top of the top piece so it doesn’t drag on your arm. Then use your fingers and throw downward at the seams then up then down. Use a wood rib to blend them. Then apply slip to the top and start to shape with a wood rib then metal for fine detail. If it gets to plasticity use a micro torch to warm the clay up, and compress the sides. After your done, trim the bottom foot and remove extra clay and dry slow. I’ve done countless and never had one crack (knock on wood); but works great. You can throw both wet and same time if you throw dry. Do it inspections say 14 like you did the bottom would be 7 middle 5 and top two. Finish shaping 90% of top and mid before you shape the top.
Not at all ugly. I think it is funky and a bit Troika pottery-like. Just needs a few geometric lines scratched in. It will sell for sure. Don't give up. If that is the first one, the rest would be amazing.
A little konstruktiv critic,,Throw it a little bit thicker there they meet each other.And put it together when it's little bit softer.Use a torch if you need.Then you can forme it from the inside... I do this technique often :) For the first time you did a good job :)
I watched the construction of your two-part large vase with rapt attention - it reminded me of my first and never again attempted two-parter. I was almost holding my breath towards the end of part two and then the filming ended - bummer eh? The final vase was a great effort though, disappointing for you. I thought it was an awesome attempt, wont be able to get better at the technique until you try it some more! I've tried it a couple times, its tough... and hasnt given me anything decent yet. lol
All you need to do to make it better is give it a bit more belly near the joint and it won't be a bad pot at all. I like your courage in trying! Do it 2 or 3 more times and with your experience and skill you will be making pots 4 feet tall and lovely to boot.

Spraying is used a lot now-makes it simple for large items but also on smaller pots.A variety of effects can be achieved with greater control of glaze thickness/application.

Watching these is the most relaxing thing ever. I watch them when I go to sleep. I thought it was a nice pot btw.

What do you use to put the lump of clay on? We used to put plaster in a pie pan and take it out when dry.
he has a video on his bats, he uses epoxy resin I believe :)
