This song, this particular video, is what made me a TWA member. It is also why I am Team Dany. Love Pau, love Ale, and beyond individual preferences, seeing the trio together as The Warning is what is most important. No doubt that you will have a great livestream and lot of interaction. Note that if you will be reacting to the full concert, QOTMS is indeed performed in album order, but there are other songs played in between chapters that are equally as impressive.
This album is a masterpiece written by teenagers. This performance is full of passion, emotion, and heart. Full credit to Dany. She lives the character and delivers each song with such great emphasis on what the song is about. You can tell on her face , the expressions of how much she is invested in each performance. This concert at Lunario will have a few songs from their previous album 21st century blood in between chapters too. Check the playlist to avoid confusion. As this is a concept album. Give a pause between each song to try and gather the information from the lyrics about the progress of the story. The girls have written this album and lyrics that will leave interpretation to each individual person as they see it. The story line will be there though. Looking forward to the stream and if I cannot make it I will certainly look forward to your youtube uploads. I am kinda jealous you will be experiencing this for the first time as I remember hearing this album for the first time and was completely mind blown. Still, these girls blow my mind now. Ugh next. One of the many things about TW that I like, is that even if a song doesn't click on you the first listens, they always do at the end, and I'm not talking about this one in particular, in general, once you appreciate their songs for what they are and for the different reasons, you'll always find new things to keep enjoying them... Great reaction to The Warning, as always! As you watch the Queen of the Murder Scene concert, I believe that the one fact you will continually become aware of is that, given their very young ages at the time the songs were WRITTEN (prior to the performance), the girls were/are astoundingly-great, near-genius songwriters. It is the result of their deep understanding of melodic and harmonic movement and music theory. All three were trained in classical piano from the ages of 4 to 6, all began and continued formal lessons on their individual instruments (Dany was 8, Pau was 6 and Ale was between 7 and 8) Then in 2015, they attended a six-week youth program at Berklee College of Music learning music theory and related curriculum; one class being Stage Performance. With that intense formal training in mind, as you watch and listen, keep reminding yourself of just how young they were when the album was created. It will blow your mind and make you love and respect the girls even more. They have been and still are superior songwriters above their peers, most of whom were/are twice their ages and older. Enjoy the concert!
I agree with your points. These three actually care about their songs, because they are the writers/composers of each song. All three sisters participate until each song is just how they want it to be. This album in particular was a struggle, one of their first hard earned lessons with the music industry. I will not go into details, because the band has only shared most of the story in confidence (I do not think the entire story will ever be told). To be treated as less than by the industry, as they were, would have crushed the spirit of most young musicians. This show was not long after that struggle session, and the passion you see is fueled by DPA’s defiance and pride in their ability. The band made a short documentary about the making of this album, which will eventually be released to the public. It breaks your heart to watch, yet lifts it back up again to see them overcome the adversity.
Where most bands chase the sound of their album recordings when playing live, The Warning chased the sound of their live performances, trying to capture the brilliance, power, passion and emotion they exude playing live and put it down in the studio. I am not sure what kind of magic it is but I never tire of watching any of their performances.
Another of the many tunes by The Warning that bring tears to my eyes and, honestly, that goes for both the studio and live versions. At some point, I have to stop saying "so incredible for their age," but they were just 18, 16, and 13 when they gave this concert in a way that totally belied their years. You will not be disappointed for watching the entire album in order. Everything from this emotional song, to rock, to cheerleader punk rock. The album has it all.
There is a really great performance of this song where after sound check the guitar is accidentally left on and is dead when she starts to sing during the show. Dany gives a panicked look at Pau and Ally then belts out the song acapella until Pau and Ale join in. Sorry to much Warning info in my brain don't remember which one. This is one of the few songs that Dany wrote.
You got there, Lunario (loo-NAR-ee-oh) is in Mexico City (aka Cudad de Mexico or CDMX) at elevation, as others have pointed out. This is a really good album--especially considering it was written and performed by teenagers. Will try to catch your full album listen tomorrow. So happy that you have found these women. I feel taht they are going to be leading the way for a new generation of rock.

I will be here for the whole concert. This concert is their release show for the Queen of the Murder Scene Album. They released one chapter at a time before the show, except the last chapter, that had never been heard by anyone. They play an older song between each Chapter from their first album XXI Century Blood, and an Encore! I saw this for the first time a about a month after it was recorded (about Xmas 2018), and I have listened to them every day since! BTW, you got it right, it's LunARio CDMX... CDMX = Ciudad de Mexico = Mexico City. Lunario is one of the concert halls within the Mexican National Performing Arts Center
Dang has literally brought reactors to tears with this performance. The whole concert is epic,. And remember that their ages at this show was 13, 15, 18.
I'll try and look in tomorrow, this album is a work of art. This was performed in Mexico City, over 7,000 feet above sea level. You can hear it in Dany's voice sometimes, but I think it adds to the overall feeling of the story. Loved the reaction, thank you. ❤✌🤘 from the UK.
Here is link to another live of Crimson Queen from the Foro Didi concert about a year following the Lunario Concert. This one Dany's electric acoustic guitar battery was drained because it was not plugged in after the sound check. At first she looks at Pau to see if there was something wrong with the click track but there wasn't, so they just continued on. See how they handle themselves when there is a technical issue. The other thing is this concert has better audio and visual than the Lunario concert and the lighting and camera work are better. There is also a drum cam and you really get to see Pau work up close, especially for the opening song Dust to Dust. But, Lunario is the premiere of QOTMS album and is played song by song, where as the Foro Didi sprinkles in some songs from their first album XXI Century Blood and there are two songs out of order from QOTMS. Crimson Queen wasn't written for the QOTMS album. The song was a solo project Dany was working on and as they were putting the QOTMS album together they realized Crimson Queen fit perfectly with the theme of the album.
Another thing about this song is that it’s easy for a beginner to learn as it’s just 2 chords Dm and Gm, so you can learn those chords and the strumming pattern and play it pretty easily. It goes to show that a great song doesn’t have to be very complex to be effective, which pretty much sums up The Warning. Nothing they do is super technical but it’s all very well crafted and while they are always stretching themselves to get better they don’t overplay just for the sake of it.
So happy you guys lent an ear to us in the comments, and decided to do this LP in full. It's such an epic experience. I think of this as a right of passage, and the entrance gates to everything TW. Can I suggest that you pull up the lyrics, and song meanings and have them to review, AS your watching the video. It will help you tremendously understand each chapter & song, as the story unfolds, and amplify the feelings from that background knowledge.
Dany wrote this song and brings full emotion to the table. I’m team Dany because of her passion. Ale & Pau are great too but Dany lives rock & roll and owns that stage. She loves her fans and loves performing and spreading joy & happiness. Great great song 🤘😊🔥
Nice, now this is the real deal! Just so that you're aware, if you watch the full concert recording for Lunario (which is the video you're using in this video) they play older songs between each chapter, so there are songs which aren't part of the story included in the setlist. They are all definitely worth watching but I just don't want you to get confused about which songs are included in the album. So if I remember right, the format is Prologue (one song), other song, Chapter 1 (three songs), other song, Chapter 2 (three songs), other song, Chapter 3 (three songs), other song, Chapter 4 (three songs), other song.
FYI, QOTMS was played, in full, at Lunario, but, there were other, older, songs interspersed. So, if you put the full Lunario show video on, that's what you'll get. All the QOTMS songs, from Lunario, do have their own videos though. They are all on The Warning's TH-cam channel as well. Just something to consider. I'm sure TWA is good with either choice. The more The Warning, the better. Cheers!
Thanks for the great reaction to an epic song! Remember when you do the full album tomorrow that they mix some other songs in during this concert, so you would skip those if you just want the Queen of the Murder Scene songs. That might be better since it's a concept album and tells a story. The entire album is great! Can't wait!

Lesson number one for reacting to this band; always react to a live version if one is available on their TH-cam channel. 😜 Also after reacting to the chapters of Queen Of The Murder Scene from Lunario, I would suggest watching their VLOGs #23, #25 & #26 where they talk about the songs.
You're right, TimberWolf762. Dani has the quality of being able to step into the role in every song and then, when the song ends, quickly but seamlessly step out of that role. All in a very natural way that never seems forced or fake. One thing that really catches my attention is that decision to appear with those black stripes painted on her neck and on her hand (en el Lunario CDMX), which, As far as I know, it was a last minute decision. It is striking because from the point of view of a performance, it would seem like a technique of immersion in the character (a physical mark), which Dani has amply demonstrated that she does not need it. Maybe she did it just for the public as part of the show. I remember that on one occasion the great English actor Richard Burton was asked about the problem of being a good actor (he didn't believe in character immersion methods), and he answered: - "It's the easiest thing in the world, you just arrive, You say your lines and walk away". Well, Dani has this quality.

The problem with most of the live performances, they are recorded with cell phones. The audio/video is not great(some better than others) Rudy Joffrey, their manager, has shot some but still. Their are Pau Cams. You can't really hear anything but the drums, but you see what she does. They are releasing (per song). Video of their concert in Mexico City 8/29/22. They are pro-shot with direct audio. It is from their newest album "Error". Except for the live energy when you are there. The pro-shot is better (you can see them closer and don't have people screaming in your ears. Personal live is awesome, though. I got to see them in Richmond VA Aug.13,2022. Maybe 300 people. About softer stuff. Wait till you do the "Effor" album.
Great that you guys are doing this! Just to be clear - for their Lunario CDMX (Mexico City) concert where they played the Queen of the Murder Scene album live for the first time, each song is individually there in the proper order for the concept album to make sense (starting with Dust to Dust) on The Warning's TH-cam channel. (This whas shot when they were independent so there are no copyright problems.) However, there are 4 songs in the playlist for Lunario that are from their previous album (XXI Century Blood) so skip over these at first if you want to follow the narrative of the concept album. The 4 that "don't belong" are: "Unmendable" ... "When I'm Alone" ... "XXI Century Blood" ... and "Copper Bullets" (all great songs, but from an earlier album).
I get your point, but I wouldn't skip any song from that concert. I think the continuous atmosphere that they build throughout the concert is also very important. ¡Also with those 4 songs they will be able to appreciate what the girls did before! 🤘
@@Nxort Agreed that those are terrific songs too. But they are not part of the Queen of the Murder Scene story. Concept albums are rare in and of themselves. Concept albums done well are rarer. Concept albums debuted and performed live in front of an audience by teenage girls ... and done exceptionally well ... is something to behold. My point was to watch the QOTMS songs in order so the story make sense. Then double back (if you want) to watch the four other tunes.
Those songs are between each chapter and Survive as the encore. Also, the first 10 minutes are of them going to and from the sound check. Worth watching, just be ready.

A true rarity - and unheard of by such a young group - an excellent concept album, one I never get tired of watching or listening to. And in their second language, no less! The Warning is a force to be reckoned with, and always leaves you wanting just... one... more... song!

The difference between The Warning & the auto tuned, lip synching, song & dance, T&A, shredders, etc. is these ladies have soul. Live is the test and they get an A everytime.

One of the nifty things about these young ladies is that they'll adapt the musical genera to whatever best fits the story the song is trying to tell. They gravitate towards a more "hard rock" sound, because that's what they love personally, but they'll "go anywhere" the song requires. They _compose_ their music, which is why there are few of the classic sort of guitar solos, and those that do exist are fairly tightly "scripted" and performed in service to the overall song - it's not an "ego stroke" for Dany. It makes for a more enjoyable show, IMHO, because their performances are nearly always almost precisely what is recorded on the albums. Also, when you do the whole thing tomorrow, appreciate the graphic show Pau worked hard to put together on this - it's got story elements and themes running through it, and I think really adds a great extra dimension to the performance. Lastly, be forewarned that there are a couple tunes from _XXI Century Blood_ sprinkled into the show, kind of as intermissions of a sort to the QOTMS album, so don't feel too thrown off by them - the main story will pick up shortly. 😋
Hey Guys! See, we told ya so. hahah Most bands try to sound as good live as their studio albums. The Warning has, for years, tried to make their studio albums sound as good as they do live. haha Seeing them live is a surreal experience! As good as you think they are, and as good as their live videos seem, they are WAY better than you think! I would hate to be in ANY band that has to follow them on stage! And the best place to see them is as the headliner in a small venue! It's like they are playing just for you, because they ARE! They are like watching fish swim or birds fly. It's what they do.

Yeah man. This is a great concert and the performance is legendary. Keep in mind they play songs from their 1st album XXI Century Blood between chapters of QOTMS during this show, that is if you're using the full concert video. I think you'll fund a time stamped playlist in the comments of that video and you can follow the song order that way unless you don't mind hearing songs from the other album in your live stream. Most people see they are in makeup for this show. The black on Danys throat and arm are easy to see but if you look close she also has fake blood on her pants.

These young ladies kick me in the chest every time they do something like this. The harmonies are staggering. The story of this album is raw and tragic, and this concert really makes you feel it. The amazing thing to me is that this was their first full public performance of the entire album, ON THE NIGHT OF ITS RELEASE! The entire video includes about 12 minutes of documentary footage before this that shows them traveling to the auditorium, doing a sound check, meeting and taking pictures with fans, etc. THEY WERE JUST NORMAL TEENS, but professional as hell when it came to their music! Amazing people are in this family!
There is a concert with this song where her guitar amplification failed and she just sung it with no instruments, just her voice, occasional bass and backing vocals. You should check that out too. So good.

While this is a fantastic version of this song, they did this at Foro disk and had a problem with Dany's guitar pick up. So she sang the entire song 100% a cappella. She killed it. Such a pro.
The previous album (XXI Century Blood) is excellent in its own right. Don’t get the wrong impression from the comments. I think each album has represented a dynamic improvement in the band from a sophistication and maturity standpoint. I agree with other comments that each album should be enjoyed for what they are individually. Listen to Queen of the Murder Scene in order by itself and then travel back and enjoy XXI Century Blood either in reactions or leisurely.

This is one of those rare few songs that Dany composed completely, all by herself. What a powerful song.

I will be here for the whole concert. This concert is their release show for the Queen of the Murder Scene Album. They released one chapter at a time before the show, except the last chapter, that had never been heard by anyone. They play an older song between each Chapter from their first album XXI Century Blood, and an Encore! I saw this for the first time a about a month after it was recorded (about Xmas 2018), and I have listened to them every day since!
BTW, you got it right, it's LunARio CDMX... CDMX = Ciudad de Mexico = Mexico City. Lunario is one of the concert halls within the Mexican National Performing Arts Center
Dang has literally brought reactors to tears with this performance. The whole concert is epic,. And remember that their ages at this show was 13, 15, 18.

Here is link to another live of Crimson Queen from the Foro Didi concert about a year following the Lunario Concert. This one Dany's electric acoustic guitar battery was drained because it was not plugged in after the sound check. At first she looks at Pau to see if there was something wrong with the click track but there wasn't, so they just continued on. See how they handle themselves when there is a technical issue. The other thing is this concert has better audio and visual than the Lunario concert and the lighting and camera work are better.

Personally, I like the Foro Didi concert better than the Lunario CDMX because of the quality of the recording and the Lunario tends to show mostly Dany and not a lot of Pau and Ale. There is also a drum cam and you really get to see Pau work up close, especially for the opening song Dust to Dust.
But, Lunario is the premiere of QOTMS album and is played song by song, where as the Foro Didi sprinkles in some songs from their first album XXI Century Blood and there are two songs out of order from QOTMS.
Crimson Queen wasn't written for the QOTMS album. The song was a solo project Dany was working on and as they were putting the QOTMS album together they realized Crimson Queen fit perfectly with the theme of the album.
Another thing about this song is that it’s easy for a beginner to learn as it’s just 2 chords Dm and Gm, so you can learn those chords and the strumming pattern and play it pretty easily. It goes to show that a great song doesn’t have to be very complex to be effective, which pretty much sums up The Warning. Nothing they do is super technical but it’s all very well crafted and while they are always stretching themselves to get better they don’t overplay just for the sake of it.

Nice, now this is the real deal! Just so that you're aware, if you watch the full concert recording for Lunario (which is the video you're using in this video) they play older songs between each chapter, so there are songs which aren't part of the story included in the setlist. They are all definitely worth watching but I just don't want you to get confused about which songs are included in the album. So if I remember right, the format is Prologue (one song), other song, Chapter 1 (three songs), other song, Chapter 2 (three songs), other song, Chapter 3 (three songs), other song, Chapter 4 (three songs), other song.

FYI, QOTMS was played, in full, at Lunario, but, there were other, older, songs interspersed. So, if you put the full Lunario show video on, that's what you'll get. All the QOTMS songs, from Lunario, do have their own videos though. They are all on The Warning's TH-cam channel as well. Just something to consider. I'm sure TWA is good with either choice. The more The Warning, the better. Cheers!

Remember when you do the full album tomorrow that they mix some other songs in during this concert, so you would skip those if you just want the Queen of the Murder Scene songs. That might be better since it's a concept album and tells a story. The entire album is great! Can't wait!

I have always been impressed at how Dany ‘becomes’ the Queen as the show progresses.
You're right, TimberWolf762. Dani has the quality of being able to step into the role in every song and then, when the song ends, quickly but seamlessly step out of that role. All in a very natural way that never seems forced or fake.
One thing that really catches my attention is that decision to appear with those black stripes painted on her neck and on her hand (en el Lunario CDMX), which, As far as I know, it was a last minute decision.
It is striking because from the point of view of a performance, it would seem like a technique of immersion in the character (a physical mark), which Dani has amply demonstrated that she does not need it. Maybe she did it just for the public as part of the show.
I remember that on one occasion the great English actor Richard Burton was asked about the problem of being a good actor (he didn't believe in character immersion methods), and he answered: - "It's the easiest thing in the world, you just arrive, You say your lines and walk away". Well, Dani has this quality.

Just to be clear - for their Lunario CDMX (Mexico City) concert where they played the Queen of the Murder Scene album live for the first time, each song is individually there in the proper order for the concept album to make sense (starting with Dust to Dust) on The Warning's TH-cam channel. (This whas shot when they were independent so there are no copyright problems.) However, there are 4 songs in the playlist for Lunario that are from their previous album (XXI Century Blood) so skip over these at first if you want to follow the narrative of the concept album. The 4 that "don't belong" are: "Unmendable" ... "When I'm Alone" ... "XXI Century Blood" ... and "Copper Bullets" (all great songs, but from an earlier album).
I get your point, but I wouldn't skip any song from that concert.
I think the continuous atmosphere that they build throughout the concert is also very important.

@@Nxort Agreed that those are terrific songs too. But they are not part of the Queen of the Murder Scene story. Concept albums are rare in and of themselves. Concept albums done well are rarer. Concept albums debuted and performed live in front of an audience by teenage girls ... and done exceptionally well ... is something to behold. My point was to watch the QOTMS songs in order so the story make sense. Then double back (if you want) to watch the four other tunes.

The difference between The Warning & the auto tuned, lip synching, song & dance, T&A, shredders, etc. is these ladies have soul. Live is the test and they get an A everytime.

One of the nifty things about these young ladies is that they'll adapt the musical genera to whatever best fits the story the song is trying to tell. They gravitate towards a more "hard rock" sound, because that's what they love personally, but they'll "go anywhere" the song requires. They _compose_ their music, which is why there are few of the classic sort of guitar solos, and those that do exist are fairly tightly "scripted" and performed in service to the overall song - it's not an "ego stroke" for Dany. It makes for a more enjoyable show, IMHO, because their performances are nearly always almost precisely what is recorded on the albums.
Also, when you do the whole thing tomorrow, appreciate the graphic show Pau worked hard to put together on this - it's got story elements and themes running through it, and I think really adds a great extra dimension to the performance. Lastly, be forewarned that there are a couple tunes from _XXI Century Blood_ sprinkled into the show, kind of as intermissions of a sort to the QOTMS album, so don't feel too thrown off by them - the main story will pick up shortly. 😋

Hey Guys! See, we told ya so. hahah Most bands try to sound as good live as their studio albums. The Warning has, for years, tried to make their studio albums sound as good as they do live. haha Seeing them live is a surreal experience! As good as you think they are, and as good as their live videos seem, they are WAY better than you think! I would hate to be in ANY band that has to follow them on stage! And the best place to see them is as the headliner in a small venue! It's like they are playing just for you, because they ARE! They are like watching fish swim or birds fly. It's what they do.

Yeah man. This is a great concert and the performance is legendary. Keep in mind they play songs from their 1st album XXI Century Blood between chapters of QOTMS during this show, that is if you're using the full concert video. I think you'll fund a time stamped playlist in the comments of that video and you can follow the song order that way unless you don't mind hearing songs from the other album in your live stream. These young ladies kick me in the chest every time they do something like this. The harmonies are staggering. The story of this album is raw and tragic, and this concert really makes you feel it. The amazing thing to me is that this was their first full public performance of the entire album, ON THE NIGHT OF ITS RELEASE! The entire video includes about 12 minutes of documentary footage before this that shows them traveling to the auditorium, doing a sound check, meeting and taking pictures with fans, etc. THEY WERE JUST NORMAL TEENS, but professional as hell when it came to their music! Amazing people are in this family!
There is a concert with this song where her guitar amplification failed and she just sung it with no instruments, just her voice, occasional bass and backing vocals.

The previous album (XXI Century Blood) is excellent in its own right. Don’t get the wrong impression from the comments.
I think each album has represented a dynamic improvement in the band from a sophistication and maturity standpoint.
I agree with other comments that each album should be enjoyed for what they are individually.
Listen to Queen of the Murder Scene in order by itself and then travel back and enjoy XXI Century Blood either in reactions or leisurely.
