Amazing for your video of Honda Africa Twin & Yamaha Super Tenere Offroad. I admire you. You are really a good driver. I love your video. Thanks for sharing.🥰
Actually I'm very happy to see this vid. I had been tempted (was but not any more) to get a more powerful, bigger, faster for the road bike. But it's nice to be reminded why I absolutely don't want one, they're too Winnebago-ish, just too fat, sloppy and heavy and an ordeal from hell when the going gets rough. When these bikes got into a little bit of slippery muddy conditions, they instantly reminded me what rules them out. LIGHT WEIGHT is great. I like to go where I want and it might get rough, muddy or steep and I just watched once again that it doesn't take very much to turn these bikes into no go zone beastly hogs. A WR250R Yamaha can tour around the world, load and offload small boats, pickups, park in a courtyard at night, anyone can drag it out of a mud hole, just easier, better and more fun. Freeways are for cars and semi-trucks in my view. And Winnebago motorcycles. Been there, done that, no thanks.
Still it looked like a lot of fun, at least you guys laughed it off and made a good day out of it. Sure beats mowing the lawn or sitting around watching TV
Good, light, soft wood enduro! The road is perfect, for almost car, moto harley, hayabusa! Like mine road to willage! For Tur enduro is it is! 250 is more light, and could ride much more deeper in the forest!
There is always something better for doing something different. I know there is lighter and better bikes in the world and better roads. This is what I ride and where I ride. Period!
@@reimopeimo I agree with you! I had sad this is light soft enduro, which i'm like! I have to set "like" on your video, cause i'm very want to buy super tenere, as you have! As a second bike. Now i'm riding XT400E Artesia, single cylinder, it's like in Europe XT600E, but for the domestic Japanese market. It has no problems with oil overheating, as 600, much more riding on full gas tank, but less in speed (max speed is 139km/h). It has the same engine as 600, but less diameter of piston than 600. Now, after riding for some years, and often ride at roads, as in your video, i see different opinion for "how to be the ouner of XTZ 750 Super Tenere". I want more speed on highway, more kilometers for 1 day, know about troubles with high center of mass, with frame, engine. In russian, there are an a big club of lovers Supertenere, and i saw information from there. Thank you for your video, best regards from Saint Petersburg, Russia!
@@reimopeimothanks! I now that bikes. It has one difference - my height is only 170cm. It case problems with riding at the town and enduro roads. I bought all my bikes old, but on a perfect condition, and I'm very afraid to brake my bike down into smithereens)) now I'm trying to find out the info, how to ride BIG if you are as a Hobbit)))
Pirelli MT21. Very good tyre. Of course on offroad it's great. On tarmac it's also very good! You can easily lean that the footpegs grind the ground. And when on full lean it alerts early, when it's going to be slip. Very safe. Lasts about 3-4000kms. Depending your driving.
Dulf Nordensvärd , tires are Pirelli MT21. On both bikes. Very good tires. Great grip on asphalt. And ofcourse on loose surface they are excellent. I recomend!
Sintypitch there was a stick of wood somewhere between the front tire and fender. Making that grinding sound. Rolled the bike backwards, the sound disapeared. The trip continiued.
I understand that ST is one behind camera.. Looking for muffler solution on my ST, I have stock one. Would like to keep it with some changes, that is why I was asking about yours.
Stock muffler is way too heavy. You could try some light enduro bike muffler. If you have some tools and skills, try doing it yourself. It was quite fun experience. I dint know what sound its going to make. It turned out just the way i like.
>Homemade muffler just an empty tube, or have you put something inside too? is it a perfect circle, or oval? kosta, stock muffler also muffles the power output of this bike, it seems to me.
Olaf Olafson, thats right. I dont want to destroy nature either. Mainly we drove where there was tracks ahead. And when we went onto wild nature, then we were quite cautious.
Reimo Peimo oh... It's ok ... No problem, i'm not a cop or an integrist of environmental activism even if i try to be "eco -friendly". We saw you ride safe and on Tracks in a large forest. Perhaps The largest forest of your country ?
Olaf Olafson no its not the biggest forest! :) it's an old military test ground. Type to Google maps 'Estonia soodla veehoidla'. There, next to this lake we rode.
drumsnbass yamu has bit more power, feels sporty compared to honda. Honda is bit better, when riding stand up. Handlebars are in better position. Honda has much better factory suspension, no doubt. Yamu's factory suspension is quite rubish compared to honda. But i like Yamaha overall better. Change front forks and rear suspension, rise handlebars(like i did) and its as good as honda, or even better. ;-)
Don't know such words like too heavy, too light, not enough power and so on. I ride with what I have. This 'too this and too that' talk is for people how aren't happy with what they have, or just physically weak people. Thank you.
do you mean the whining engine noise? If yes, then this is in real life as well. I think alternator makes that weird whining noise. Try to find some other Super Tenere videos, filmed same way. The action cam microphone is not the best in the world as well. Turn the volume little bit down, then you can enjoy the ride :)
Leonid 4B, of course lighter bike is better. But this is my everyday bike, so i drive it on any kind of terrain. Ideally i would like to have at least 6 different bikes for different riding styles, but .....you know from here on :-)
actually i sold my Super Tenere just few weeks ago and i'm looking for something newer and lighter. I put my eyes onto XT660Z. Great looks, but i haven't got chance to ride it. Some say, it's the best bike in it's league. I hope i can find that out! :D

Looks awful. They're obviously way too heavy and a real handful. So what they are nice touring bikes that have more than zero offroad ability. If you're planning to go for a ride in the woods and you have a choice, look for a dirt or light enduro/dual sport bike. I rode a lot in the woods on an XR650L and I thought THAT was heavy to pull out of swamp. These bikes are just ridiculous.

Africa Twin the Queen
why is the tenere so much cheaper than the africa twin?r they reliable?
have my tenere mine for over 10 year, a very reliable bike
tenere much faster and cheaper, the price is due to tenere only been produces till 96 while the africa until 2003 so often models are younger.
Not only cause twin can be younger, also it is due to the name and fame :)
I'm also very pleased with my Tenere. No big issues. Mostly maintenance.

Sony HDR-AS30V. Quite OK Camera.
is it mounted on top of your helmet? thanks

Dakar is not a normal race, speed matters but not as much as reliability, mileage and the ability to cross many different terrains.
