    I know I'm not supposed to take pleasure in watching the countries that criticized Denmark or called us racists for having strict immigration laws now dealing with all the problems we always warned them about, but I just can't help it. Just another example of the citizens trust in the government being rewarded in Denmark.

    It's one thing to fear socialism, communism, whatever you call it because of the power and influence that it puts in the hands of the state. It's another thing to use it as an excuse to dismiss anyone who asks us to stop turning a blind eye to those who are suffering.

    America is not free. It is tough living and not a whole lot of benefits. When the system looks out for you a lot of pressure comes off the top. Allowing you to pursue other things other than making ends meet.

      Anne Oneal you cant compare america with denmark, denmarks population contributes to the system while 30% of the american population extracts from the system.

    The US can never become Denmark. A place like Denmark is only possible with a homogenious population, with a long history build on trust and faith in one another. Everybody have to take part or else it falls. That's why you can't just let in everybody from everywhere. That should be pretty simple to understand for most people. But for some it obviously isn't.

      737tech A societys health should be measured by how well it treats its weakest citizens :)

    • @737tech
      @737tech 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thelittle Dane So how should the weakest be treated? Sure they should be helped. Help them get back on their feet. But don't enable them by keeping them on welfare. Over here we have a big problem with healthy people making a career out of living on welfare and they call it help the poor.

    • @MilieNopeNotHere
      @MilieNopeNotHere 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's probably part of it. I mean, if you have fewer people to measure with, the highest and the lowest are surely going to be closer to the median.

    Denmark is a small almost homogeneous country with high trust, strong social cohesion,low criminality, a comprehensive welfare system and is free of corruption but it has few open spaces and a relatively high population density and lacks open spaces. Scotland has very similar population size , though mass immigration has damaged trust and social cohesion it does have beautiful countryside, nearly full employment, good social provision (including free university tuition + healthcare+ medicine) almost zero corruption and yet most of us are dour so I think crime, human condition and culture affect human happiness too. I'm sure the Scottish presbyterianism legacy also contributes to the general level of dourness. Having said that , I never got the impression the Danes were a particularly happy lot any time I've visited that country. I personally believe the New Zealanders should be the happiest with all that they have going for them with Portugal a close second.

    worlds happiest? thats why there are so many alcoholics, depressed people and suicides I guess.

    • @Frenchfrys17
      @Frenchfrys17 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Denmark has low suicide rates compared to the rest of the world, and lower then the USA or China. Their drinking culture is more sustainable, as they drink around meals. Every country has depressed people, but Danes are the most likely to want to avoid depression.
      They are also the most likely to say they are thriving. www.gallup.com/poll/153818/nearly-one-four-worldwide-thriving.aspx

      TheGuyWithTheBratzDolls 2005 First, you're*
      Second, in the US you have to pay for healthcare in a bulk, like $20,000 for an operation. In Denmark you pay tax and therefore don't have to pay $20,000 at a time but a couple of hundred/month.

      +TheGuyWithTheBratzDollz Denmark ranks higher in freedom than the U.S, so yeah... If you could provide facts to support that the U.S. is better than Denmark, that'd be great.
