Car and Driver have the 0-60 as 3.3 seconds. Different sources have different ways to measure this, but car and driver, motortrend etc have the i4 M50 as quicker 0-60 then the standard M3 / M4. I got my i4 a couple of months ago, best car I ever owned. Insanity speed when you want it, but so smooth and relaxing the rest of the time.
Thanks for posting. Test drove the M50 two days ago. Picked one up yesterday. Loved the ride home. Had never driven an EV and had zero interest in Tesla.
Wow, what an exhaust sound 😮😮It still amazes me till to this day! What a machine, it's worth every penny! Guys go ahead and order one now! Now or never! It's a disgrace if you skip buying this car.
Thanks for reviewing the i4. We bought an i4 eDrive40 which is still really fast and can accelerate from any speed with surprising ease. Highly recommend it as the increased efficiency with the 18" 225 wheel/tire combo can deliver 5+ miles/kWh or 400 miles range if driven with a light foot. This makes it a fantastic long distance driver and future proofs it for the increasing price of not just gasoline but also electricity. It's time for all petrolheads to do their part and drive electric, please. It's a Climate Crisis and we need to cut ties with our beloved engines yesterday, not in several years.
How is the handling with the 18" 225s? Please post if you have longer term data showing near 400 mile range. Appearance vs the typical 245/255 split on 19s & 20s?....
@@davesax11 i4 corners flat enough but driving it fast just results in killing tires. The car weighs 4600 lbs. Think of this as a sports sedan and nothing like a sports car. The cars spec'd with wide rubber and M-Sport suspension I'm sure come much closer to handing like you'd hope a Bimmer would. Though watching a ton of early M50 reviews folks seemed to also plan that car's handling as completely unworthy of an M badge. The car we replaced was an Elise. An electric car weighing over 2 tons was never going to compare, so we didn't bother trying.
Lol. My first time driving an EV was when I test drove the M50 in October 2022. I ordered one on the spot and took delivery 10 months later - shown on my channel. 12k miles later, it's been worth the wait. The ultimate daily.

That's so quick! I definitely agree on the smooth and comfortable drive. Great car for sure.
This Car had me at the test drive. Took it about 5 miles around the dealership and got out only to talk numbers. Sits in my driveway now. 😂
@@ericnewton5720 congratulations on the purchase man! Hope it serves you well.

Brilliant! What colour did you get?

Nice to finally see this color for a change. I would purchase this car today if the front end was shorter. Sadly, the long front end is unappealing.
A coupe could have worked well then. Perhaps a future i3?
No dragy again....
Really difficult to do on busy public roads.

Congratulations on your purchase. It's a brilliant powerhouse from BMW's electric and M divisions. I agree with you.

@karlInSanDiego makes sense.
Very boring video
Thanks
First time driving an electric car? Where have you been?
Unfortunately the opportunity hasn't come up till now....
