A reliable, sturdy, capable phone with more than just the basics. Bought this LG in 2014 and sadly, due to the dissolution and upgrade of the 3-G network, it no longer is viable to make or receive phone calls or to send/receive texts. Service for the phone was discontinued at the end of Feb 2022 and I've had to upgrade to a VoLTE phone. Unhappiness. I have NEVER had any problem with the LG and would keep using it until it just fell apart if I could. Am going to try to remove the factory installed SIM card to keep using the alarm and other functions that may still be operable without a phone network connection. Great review!
i found mine from 2014. was in storage since 2015 battery was good. lots of music i loaded on it. i completely forgot about it. so happy. too bad 3g been discontinued.

The FIRST thing you should teach is how to BUY AIRTIME. They keep asking for a PIN: Where and what IS THE PIN so you can BUY Airtime? I put in my phone number but that doesn't work.

Best review ever for any product. Smart, articulate, and the sequence of features was spot on. AND I discovered the swipe-from-the-top screen display. I inadvertently picked up my phone and there was this WONDERFUL display, and after UNMUTING - the screen menu disappeared. Could not find how to make reappear - tried LG documentation, TracFone chat, and LG chat!!! Thought it was an 'easter egg' haha. Anyway, I was blown away by the organization of your review, the wealth of information and will be back for other.

Probably not; it's not an android phone so he wouldn't have access to all the apps his friends are probably using and if he's interested in using the camera this phone's camera is terrible. I could recommend a few phones but it depends on how much you're willing to spend and if he wants a good camera.

No, i'm sorry to say it's not. They'll probably get mad at you if you buy them this peice of junk. The phone hardly works, let alone connect to the internet which it barely does, and you can't download any apps. If you want a cheap phone that they will probably like, the cheapest option for a good phone would probably be the Alcatel One Touch Pixi Glitz, which sells for around $45 on eBay. I have used this phone for about a year. Here is what I think.
Pros
The music player is actually really good
Cons
Everything else sucks
The interface is clunky
The widgets disappear
No front-facing camera
Call quality is consistently bad
You can't really do anything
The screen is tiny
Generally slow
You never have any idea how much battery you have left
To be fair, it’s a feature phone, not a smartphone

piece of junk. notice how often you have to swipe the screen to keep it on. email on my version hits wrong letter when you press the letter you want. wrong phone number. just very touchy to operate
The Wifi symbol is not showing on my phone as it is on yours, but wifi is turned on. How do I get the wifi codes/info to enter?

On my phone when receiving a call, it gives you 3 choices: Ignore, Answer, and Block... so touch Block and it should block that call from that point on.
unfortunately my phone only gives me the choice to ignore or answer??
