We’re exploring the lush greenery and waterfalls of El Yunque National Forest, exploring the island’s incredible street food culture in Luquillo and Piñones, and even going island-hopping off the coast of Fajardo.
Along the way, we’re eating and drinking our way across Puerto Rico, and indulging in local favorites like alcapurria, bacalaito, mofongo, piña coladas, and lechon.

Puerto Rico really looks like an awesome place to visit...really very relaxing ...and the foods looks really appetizing .Also the beaches ...waterfalls .......the long winding roads the natural surroundings...and the drink mixing class ...I learnt a lot here too....The History of the Fort and the view from the Tower...really nice. De los mejores videos que he visto de mi isla . Si vuelve alguna vez. Pueblos para visitar . Cabo Rojo , Isabela, Aguadilla , Hatillo, Manatí . Playas y Restaurantes
The Mofongo is also fried. They fried plantains and then mash them and add seasoning. You can find all those foods also when you go to New York where I grew up lots of Latin restaurants. Of course is better in Puerto Rico.😊
No. The mofongo is not exactly fried. The plantain at first. We have also soups, stews, a variety of rices, beans, boiled roots (Yautía, ñame... ) with stews or semi fresh bacalao, pastelón of ripe plantain or potatoe, piñón, carne mechada... Many more.
There is more history in the other Towns, such as San Germán, Coamo, Ponce...also, Caparra is the first "Pre- San Juan" city... We have a lot to tell. Lot of history... much more. Another thing...not everything is fried... We have stews, soups, viandas (Roots as Yautía, mslanga, Ñame, guineos verdes, plátanos verdes, etc.)con bacalao guisado o en ensalada, salmorejo de jueyes, ensalada de pulpo o carrucho, pasteles, pastelón de papa o plátano maduro, variedad de arroces, bistec encebollado, carne mechada... Many many dishes.

25:00 IMPORTANT Bacardí is originally Cuban, not puerto rican. If you want Puerto Rican get Don Q rum. Esp. Gran Anejo. They're close but not quite the same.

Hey David. Enjoying this Vlog. Hubby and I actually took this mixology class at the Bicardi plant. Made 3 full sized drinks each and drank all 3. We left there lit 🤪😂. The food is quite yummy. In Guyana (at least my family) calls blood sausage black pudding like PR made with blood. My aunt introduced me to white pudding here in Brooklyn which she said is made with milk. Amazing flavors for both. I eat both but favor the white pudding better.

I am so jealous, I am from the town of Aguada which is the west side of Puerto Rico, there is a pretty large airport in Aquadilla which is also close to Rincon, which is the surfing capital!!! Please visit that area sometime.

This is a terrific peek inside what Puerto Rico has to offer. That meal at the Intercontinental looks amazing! We’re not even staying in San Juan but we may have to drive there just to eat at that restaurant. Were the bacon-wrapped plantains maduros or more soft tostone style? I’m going to try to make them at home.

Hola David. Happy Sunday. Just finished watching Puerto Rico. Very nice indeed. Puerto Rico , as far as I can see and the places you visited are really beautiful. The blue waters of the ocean are so inviting. All that food, too much fried and greasy food for me, but you enjoyed it a lot. Mariel is a trip, so funny. She knows how to enjoy herself. I see a few similarities to the food in Trinidad, like the blood pudding: Trinidad blood/black pudding has no rice, the mofungo: fufu. Not much home cooking though; mostly street and restaurant food. Can't wait to see you do the documentary about your visit to Trinidad. So, now I have two more docs. to watch. BTW, that sunburn was horrible. You have to put on the sunblock at least half to one hour before going out in the sun, and then repeat. Have a blessed Sunday. 🙏✌️❤️🇹🇹🇨🇦
That is the street food... We have soups, sancocho, sea food salads, a wide variety of rices combinations, meats make in many ways, beans of all kinds... You need to know more. We have 78 towns to explore and to know its culture, many things to see.

I was very encouraged by your report about our Island, however, I need to make a correction. All of the people that are born on this Island are called Puerto Ricans. Even all of the children that are born in the United States to Puerto Rican parents are also called Puerto Ricans. It doesn't matter what complexion you have, remembering that our Island has all kinds of complexion, yet we have no problem calling each other Puerto Rican. This also goes for the food we eat. We, as Puerto Rican, know the type of food we cook and eat. We have food that originates in Africa along with the foods we got from Spain and other countries including food from the rest of the Caribbean, South America, and for that matter, even the USA. My point is that we don't have a problem having to identify our food by ethnicity. We try our best not to have to identify whether this food is black or white, etc. It was something you mentioned at the beginning of this video that raised my eyebrow. However, I do appreciate everything else you complemented in this video. Thank you very much. Please return to us. You and your acquaintances are always welcome on our Island. Wepa! 😇😊🥰❤

Donde Olga is not Puerto Rican seasoning. It's Puerto Rican in terms of the traditional food but cooked by Dominicans. Very different from us.
