They will have to sell this car at a steep discount. Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota and Nissan offer more features, in modern architecture cars, for much less money. This car is basically over 8 years old, with parts that are over 15 years old. Not a bad looking car externally, but the the internals are Stone Age. Good review, nonetheless.
I wouldn't say that. The engine is very modern and revised, so is the gearbox. Doesn't lack a single feature of any new competitors. $600 APR st1 tune, and you will be quicker than V6 alternatives. This car is very authentic.
@@DMCarReviews Sure, and any engine/software modification will void your warranty. That's something you never want to do on a German car, because you will end up in the poorhouse. Also, feature for feature, this car cannot compete. I mean, they don't even offer ventilated seats, electronic instrumentation, etc., etc., etc...😏...Even $22K Kias offer these features...😳
@@solid1378 APR Plus does not void your engine/transmission warranty. It is done through an official VW Dealer. I don't see that many cars in its class with ventilated seats. It's really a useless feature for the most part. The electronic screen cluster is actually cheaper to make than classical gauges, as in this Passat. If you want to know how to actually cut on costs, look at the new Hyundai Sonata. Cheap, glossy plastic everywhere. Buttons instead of shifter. 2 cheap $100 Chinese monitors, and a 1.6L engine😂 Beside those minor features like cooled seats, and maybe panaroma sunroof, there is absolutely nothing the Passat doesn't have. It's strict and authentic. I can definitely see them bringing in a more powerful version too. These Passat's will be discounted by big bucks, 8k off MSRP easily. They will be the best buys.
@@DMCarReviews I guess you haven't been looking at what other manufacturers are offering at those price points. It is factually correct that a $25K Kia car, you will get heated/ventilated seats, all the safety telematics, top quality radio/navigation systems, soft plastics everywhere, high quality switches. Now at VW, below the arm rests and at the rear seats, hard plastic pornography fiesta is abundant. This has also leached over to Audi cars at well. VW has to massively cut costs and corners to pay for the billions in fines and lawsuits. This car is old, and offers nothing special than abundant space in a very old and cheap environment...😳🤣😏
I would pick Volkswagen over Korean cars any day. I like the look and feel of thr VW much better You get a lot of an Audi technology in the Volkswagens too as VW merged with Audi. The price is very good as well. The 2020 changed the torque a little bit for a little more acceleration and the front end looks a lot nicer than the plain older models. A lot of all this is personal preference however. I like the analog with the digital in the middle of thr dash Plus you have the nice digital radio. I noticed thr Audi vents look similar in the A4 as well. I didnt know about the HD rear video camera. My rear video camera in my Escape is not as clear. I am getting the Passat in the next two weeks.
I upgraded from a 2016 Passat to a 2019 R Line Passat last March. I like my 2019 design better. I do not like the tail lights and am not thrilled about the new front. Also, the interior is exactly the same.
Very authentic and nice car. I like that they aren't putting these huge screens in there, or coming up with these ugly ideas as the new Sonata. A $600 APR st1 tune, and you are faster than V6 alternatives.
@@DMCarReviews Vw junk...vw junk 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂..=diesel gate = unreliabilty..Hey Dima ill tell you what..if and when they put this passat on the mqb platform and update the interior..then maybe JUST maybe i might get away from the junkie hyundai and or kia..ok
@@jbshp2011 VW is the best. Well, if you enjoy driving a Kia, good for you😂 Funny enough, the Passat's platform is already so much better than the Sonata's. Will love to see the reliability of that 1.6T😂
@@DMCarReviews Well at least they have the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty so does vw have that Dima?. so even though if i purchase a new 2020 sonata or the 2021 kia optima with the 1.6 litre turbo and something goes wrong. well at least its covered by the manufacturers warranty. But i think i will take the Passat into considerstion at least it doesnt come with a stupid ass CVT! thank goodness
This car is going to fail miserably in comparison to the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata and Optima. Then add the Nissan Altima, Accord and Camry the VW Pass at can not compare. The car reviewers are already calling this car just average.
This car is embarrassing they did nothing to make this car better and i hope sales reflect that , no reason to get this slow pos , over accord , camry , or new sonata .
I like those wheels, I saw a black one today and it was real nice!!
Honda accord sport has similar rims. But I love vw more than any other car
VAG is the best💪
My mom has a 2014, and I literally can’t the difference between this car and hers. Laziest redesign of all time.
Awesome video! Very informative, if I lived in Missouri I would buy from you Reese. Much love from Utah
Fly in and I will pick you up!

That's actually really nice looking. Much better than the over styled Asian brands.
My 2015 SE has the exact same features. It’s the exact same car. I rather my design.

The red is Aurora Red. Have they altered the front assist and auto start-stop so you can turn them off for more than just an ignition cycle?
Front Assist has not changed as far as I know. The Passat does have Auto Start/Stop.
@@vwguru lucky Passat. I'm no fan of auto start/stop. Nice to know. For some reason I was thinking the Passat had it.
The Ford Taurus also has very similar rims.
Type C is superior in every way and should be preferred

Nice review, thank you
There’s a CD player! What you talkin’ about? I just saw a slit where you can insert a CD in there. Why the deception?
Nope.
What’s up with the rear wheels?...
Just look more like a refined Jetta
I though it was 6 years 72k miles bumper to bumper on all 2018 models and up...
2020 models have a new warranty. All 2020 models have a 4 year, 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and 2 years of free maintenance from VW.
Reese Sells Cars so on top of giving you somewhat the same car, they reduce your warranty. Lame...
Lambo wheels
