you're spot on when you say just because the abuse is over it doesn't leave. ptsd is rotten, it crops up when you least expect it. you think you're done with it, but you never are. for example, who knew getting two kittens would make me feel uneasy because they were wrecking my house and I had to put stuff away I didn't want broken... when I was still in my bad spot I had to hide stuff I #1 didn't want to get broken and #2 didn't want to get hit with that item. it just never ends.

Last yr I survived a domestic abuse from a old boyfriend, after I moved back home at night I would see cars past my house and I would have panic attacks because I was scared that he would show up that went on for a few weeks , he abused me for 3 days hardly ate or slept until I escaped after he left to bail someone out of jail and he showed up at my family’s home before I got there , I tried to get the police involved and sadly they wouldn’t do anything until something happened to me 😭😭😭 it’s been more than a yr later and I’m still traumatized from it all but I’m safe now because last time I heard about him he was out in the mid west of the country I changed my number after he blew up my phone with calls on thanksgiving made sure all my social media accounts were on privet and impossible for him to find me

I couldn't put that together in my head with what I knew about him and I lost 3 years to his bullshit. As females we are so used to serving others needs, but it was so exhausting to be with him I found being single doesn't make me a loser and now I have been single and celibate for 3 years because I just love my life and the fruits of my own hard work and I don't want to share that with others who aren't working on themselves who can't imagine what I loose when I must carry them.

If he didn’t physically abuse them he definitely mentally and emotionally did. Like they say in video it’s a step by step process and I was just lucky enough to be too stubborn to keep doing it as well as have family to help me out.

I am a true survivor of Abuse by so many starting at the age of 11 months old. And all though these beautiful women of privilege are not immune to DV, try being dirt poor with baby's and no where to run, unless you want to go to a shelter where the aduse can continue on a lower level. I am a true survivor of Abuse by so many starting at the age of 11 months old. And all though these beautiful women of privilege are not immune to DV, try being dirt poor with baby's and no where to run, unless you want to go to a shelter where the aduse can continue on a lower level. I lived a life thinking that SA, and DV were a normal life for a person like me. I have always been a kind person and I always tried to think about others to the point that I was convinced it was ME, I was the problem, getting beat up every week was my fault, and for some reason it's followed me all my life.
God Bless all the women who can escape and find the true help that a lot of us could never get.❤️
