of course! kids and especially Izzy didn't deserve this treatment. it's bad that elena did so. this video is not an excuse for her behavior. it shows her personality - a woman with broken dreams who never lived her own life and because of that she became the sparkle of the tragedy...
@@nomenesciio your editing definitely pointed that out, you really did good. It’s just sad to think that there are moms that are like her. Or to think that our moms had to go though similar things..kinda sad but somehow empowering knowing that we made progress in a positive way
@@someoneyoumayormaynotknow3924 thank you for your words. yes it's bad, I know there are lots of moms like elena who overprotect their children nowadays
You never fail to amaze me this is so good!! Even though I’m still not the biggest fan of Elena I understand her pain and feel kind of bad for her (of course that doesn’t justify her actions she did a lot of really terrible things). I’m confused as to why she lies and says she burned down the house at the end though
I just cry and can’t say anything. thank you! yes, elena is definitely the evil in this story, but every villain has that part of his soul that we can all sympathize with. and yes, I think she said that it was she who set fire to the house, because all her actions in relation to children over the years caused this tragedy. she wanted to be a good mother, but she didn’t succeed... finally, she came to this conclusion at the end of the story when it was too late.
She was the spark since the beginning but she only understand that at the end, she all the time though she was the perfect mother and that all her children's were perfect and doing well except Izzy but that was only what she wanted to believe, the truth it reveals that night when her 3 perfect children burn the house down, that's when she realize that they are not okay, none of them, not just Izzy. That's why she accept the blame for everything because she made everything happened
I haven't watched the show or read the book so take this with a grain of salt. I don't think we talk about or show postpartum depression enough on media. On media, mothers are shown to be immediately delighted after the first few nights alone with their children, when in reality, for some, that's not the case. PPD is said to be rare and that it happens to 1 in 8 women. It is something they cannot control. imo, Elena was already going through something pre-birth of Izzy. With her mother and (I believe) boyfriend/husband, at the time, pushing her for her 4th child ++ (maybe) unresolved issues from previous births, it's not surprising that she "hates" izzy. She never got to resolve or at least have counseling for her previous issues and add onto that the PPD she must've gotten after the birth of Izzy. Her actions are inexcusable but it's worth understanding that she can't help it, and if she won't get help, she will lose Izzy and her children.
omg I can't believe you got the story right because everything you said was so TRUE! yes, her husband pushed her to have another child while elena wanted to have a career, she dreamed about it like her ex-boyfriend I also really want to have a representation of postpartum depression on media, because pregnancy is not easy, having children - same. we need it we need to show that being a mother is really challenging
Tessa! Everyone just hates on Elena, and yes she was problematic, but I felt sorry for her in some ways. And can we agree Bill was a huge culprit, but no just blame the woman 🙄
A husband should respect his wife decision to have no more children..Gosh he is not the one giving birth. This all started with the stigma that once a woman is married she must stay home.
true! it shouldn't be like this. elena deserved to be successful and decide what she wants In her life and we can see she didn't want to just be a mother...
я пересмотрела это видео после того, как непосредственно досмотрела сериал... не могу передать словами, как сильно люблю видео Арины и ее саму ♥ жду момента, когда здесь будет миллион просмотров :)
the book is greaaaaat, I can't say which one is better bc I haven't seen but clips so far, but seems to me that the show is very dramatic. In the book Elena did many bad things and was very awful but she wasn't painted like the horrible monster I see in the show, she was just a human being with her failures and all but also good things. She chose her life with Bill also bc it seemed more comfortable and easy to her. She wasn't that horrible towards Izzy too.
I haven't read the book yet but I'm playing to do it because this show is like one of my favorite now! and yeah, I can totally agree with you. elena is not a 100% terrible person, she just couldn't get out of her comfort zone, she wanted everything be classic in your life (marriage, kids, big house) and that's what her mother wanted from her. and elena wanted it from every of her children. but izzy is the only one who was special, she didn't want to have a life of her mother, she wanted something unique. and elena thought that her actions were for the good, but no. even though she thought she did everything right, it wasn't like this. and that's okay, we all people, we all have problems and we all have good and bad things inside of us. I don't think elena is a monster, that's why I made this video showing that she also deserves to be understood. and I don't know if it's the same in the book, but when I was watching this series, I felt like it showed that every person can't be describe as good or bad. like there're no good and bad people in the show. they're all somewhere in the middle. and that's what makes this show so realistic. how was it in the book?
I really do sympathize with Elena here. Throughout the show, I was shocked at how cruel she was to Izzy, and how evil she truly was. But, watching how she developed earlier in life really puts into perspective why she is angry. She didn't get to choose to have four kids, her husband did. She specifically said she wanted three, but he went and had four, and the fourth one destroyed her. She wanted three to be independent and have a career, but that was crushed by Izzy. While it's not excusable, it's not entirely her fault either. The ultimate person who is responsible is Bill for wanting a fourth child as if he gets to dictate how many kids Elena should give birth too. He is not entitled to that decision when it's Elena giving birth, and having to raise her children the whole time on her own. Bill was wrong to put pressure on her to have more kids when she clearly wanted to be independent and a mom, not just a mom.
exactly! this is true, this what i tried to represent in my video. elena is not the only one villain in this show. what I truly loved in the show is the fact that all characters can't be described as good and bad, they are the complex of good and bad. like all of us in real life.
I do feel bad for young elena and understand how it kinda shaped her but that’s not an excuse for her to treat her youngest like that
