I love Kurumada’s sprites so dang much! Kinda makes me want to see an AU where all the participants who died in the first trial survived in place of some of the current participants.
Ranmaru could replace either Sara or Sou.
Kurumada could replace Q-Taro.
Anzu could replace Reko.
Hinako could replace Gin.
Mai could replace Nao perhaps?
Shunsuke could replace Mishima.
Megumi could replace Keiji.
And Kugie could replace Kanna.
This also means there will end up being Dummy versions of Sara/Sou, Q-taro, Reko, Gin, Mishima and maybe Nao could get one.
I sort of like the idea of a surviving Alice getting paired with a dummy version of Reko and Megumi playing a bigger role in the story, maybe pretending to be a law abiding and virtuous police officer but is slowly unmasked through the game, culminating in seeing a doll version of Keiji who chastises her for using her position as an officer to commit many offences and leaving a useless subordinate who was only a burden on her to die.

guyss i got great news for ya-- have you read "anzu's turn to die" on ao3?? it's an au where everyone except megumi survives their first trials. i think it's very logically written, and it's interesting to see how much changes in the plot when there's more people since the beginning!! oh, and also sara's not the protag anymore. all of the stuff she's single-handedly done in the game is being taken over by the rest of the cast, now that the game mechanics are not limiting us. and it's all from anzu's pov!!!
