This is such a dark, beautiful song. I always thought that she had to have written this when she was literally at a point where her life had suddenly just detached from everything, and she had hit a point where there was no momentum forward, and the options were to just stand there and wait for SOMETHING to happen, or jump. This video is very nicely constructed, and like the song is simple, yet says a lot. Very nice! :)

I'll never forget the moments this was the soundtrack for,I will always love my Angel...and miss him so so very much. .....years are like dust on a tomb.
To me, this song is told from the perspective of someone who has recently died and is traveling the "bridge" from Earth to Heaven (or your choice of skyward afterlife). She's looking down on those that she's leaving behind. The "fountains" are the tears wept by her loved ones, the rain could be literal or her own tears. Everyone wants to be free from the pain, which she compares to when someone leaves home (thus abandoning their loved ones in a way). She wants them to move on ("look away from the sky"), but acknowledges that it is indeed different, especially since she can't literally say goodbye to them. So she says it anyway, knowing that they won't hear her. She tries to cover their pain from herself by blocking them out with her hands and closing her eyes. The "light in your eyes" is the life that they still have and she's reminding them that they must go on living it, then acknowledges that they indeed know this, even if it's not a reassuring thought to them. She looks at them one more time and says that she's waiting for them, the ultimate reassurance to herself, that they will one day join her in the great beyond.
I almost committed suicide about two weeks ago...when I heard this song, I cried...yes I cried I'll man up to that I'm not perfect.. When I was on the verge on doing it, this song played in my car, my cousin borrowed my car and left her iPod playing. I was mad, sad, frustrated with my life..just so many mixed emotions. And when this song came on I pulled over and cried. Felt like this song was telling me that everything is going to be alright.....I'm 21 years old.....and I think music saved my life..

Anyway hope you can come out of this well, life is full of posibilities, dont waste them. If your life is so messy or worse: hopeless and without purpose, allow yourself to give a chance, and move on as radicaly as you have to to find that purpose. Dont give up man, you got a second chance!!
