This one really stepped up a lot from the first movie. It has new dark jokes, great character moments, and best part of all; Tim Burton went back to doing his classic stop motion style for this movie. It was so impressive when he did it for the first movie, and it’s still just as impressive in this one.
This movie lived up to the hype! I saw it in theaters a couple weeks ago, and my family and I had a blast. A lot of things to really love and appreciate, but Wolf Jackson was definitely one of those characters I didn't expect to enjoy so much.
21:59 Her finger looks ‘like that’s because Beetlejuice had her ring finger! In the first movie, when he was trying to marry Lydia, he took the ring from Dolores’s severed finger claiming that the then unnamed woman meant “nothing to him.” A fun Easter egg :P
The reason that Tim gave for Adam and Barbara not being in this movie is that it would be incredibly difficult to de-age them to the point that they look like they did in the original.
@@ZukoHalliwell well, yeah, but he did intend to have the Maitlands to have a cameo in the end, but they didn’t go through with it due to that reason. He wanted to avoid digital effects as much as possible in favor for practical effects, just like the original.

Also, I know Tim Burton said he doesn’t think he will do a third one soon but I think everyone will riot if they don’t end this franchise with the movie called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. I am also emo/Goth at heart, and I can personally relate to Lydia's character trait where she can communicate with and see the ones that have passed on because... Well, like I commented on the first reaction.. (I don't freakin' want to say you-know-who's name 3 times!) I am what's called a Paranormal Sensitive. I can do the things (More or less), that Lydia can do. I found out I could do this a few years ago... So technically, some people can actually see the dead! But, it can also be extremely dangerous...
As someone who doesn’t like horror movies, Beetlejuice and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are movies i LOVE watching (especially around this spooky season!!!)
Can we just mention the fact that Astrid’s dad is a civil servant and in the first movie they say only those who offed themselves become civil servants ?
Dolores scenes were so cool. Sadly she was just wasted... Gena and Alec didnt come back, because ghosts cannot age... so its ok for their characters to move on. Plus, there was nothing that would tie them to this sequel. Unless a funny cameo.... The charles actor, faced some charges, so, they didnt want to bring him back. I just think, after the shark scene, it was unecessary to drag charles plot... it didnt do anything.
Beetlejuice aged, though. Plus I felt they were more Lydia's parents than her original ones by the end, so I wasn't that invested in her mother at all, although I know the actress is popular. She and her husband could have been off on a trip and I wouldn't have cared. The animated version looked like him anyway, so. I agree it did nothing for the plot. Also, why "MacArthur Park"?

7:14 the dead haven't really moved on. there are some who don't like their widow's new spouse, so they call him for some "Bio-Exorcism". (reverse of what an Exorcist does) he's self-employed, used to work for that Juno woman (dunno what happened to her; actress probably died, but no explanation of the character.)
The actor who played Charles Deetz is a registered sex offender who was arrested in the early 2000s for possession of videos and pictures involving children, if you catch my drift 😬
This movie is ok to me. I love the music, the costumes and the dead's world; it's really fun to explore BUT there's so much plots; Lydia and her marriage, her girl and the ghost guy, the ghost cop, Beetlejuice's ex. Too many small stories in this film and none of them are fully developped 😐Dolores is barely there and not very manacing; her powers are cool but she just walked during the entire movie then die in five seconds. That's dissapointing! Bob was funny, the actors are all excellent. There's good and bad stuff in this movie. It's a 6|10 for me, maybe i'll rewatch it one or two more times.
I saw this movie in the theatre, and I have two complaints: 1) The character Delores had no function in the movie, if you removed her the plot wouldn't change. Tim put her in because the woman who places Delores is his current girlfriend, and 2) the make on Michael Keaton was really bad, it showed every aging line on his face and the makeup cracked even more each time he used facial expressions.
I think this is a reference to the movie he was working on where he accidentally shot off a gun that wasn't supposed to be loaded and killed the cinematographer. Charges against him were recently dropped. I think he will be in movies again, though.

the fact that this movies BIGGEST mommy character got the LEAST amount of screen-time will haunt me forever

did the Shrunken head dudes actually understand Beetlejuice when he talked?
plus, his dating now Monica Bellucci aka Dolores hahahahah
The reason jeffrey jones (Lydia's dad) is not in the film is cause in 2002 he was arrested and put on the sex offender registry for CP possessions
