Great review as always. Got this one in KJV and love it. Absolutely my favourite compact Bible, my Cambridge Pitt Minion just gathers dust now. 2K Denmark ComfortPrint has been a game-changer for the readability of compacts.
I own the NKJV Maclaren thin line in the genuine leather. It is a gorgeous bible. I do own a compact NKJV that I got back in 2007. I believe it has a 7 point font as well, but there was no comfort print. I really like the gold gilt line in the Maclaren compact. Very nice!
I recently bought this Bible through Amazon. I highly recommend it if you’re mainly looking for a traveling companion. I use it for my daily readings at work, home, church, etc. It looks and feels great. You can definitely feel the quality. If you’re wondering about the font size, I did think it was small at first but after a few days my eyes adjusted and it doesn’t even bother me anymore. Overall, great Bible!
Heyyy i really love your reviews! Their very thorough and detailed. By any chance can you do a review on the ESV personal reference single column bible??? Its so hard to find a review on it TT
Thank you! I would if I happen to ever get one but for your convenience here is a video Wildsmith has done on it ✌🏼 th-cam.com/video/E7KNEb1esMU/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
I really enjoy your Bible reviews. I am looking for a modern high quality compact NKJV Bible. Currently I have a compact Thomas Nelson NKJV Bible - genuine leather, Red Letter, Indexed, smyth-sewn, Center-Column Reference, Translation Notes, Concordance - that has served me well since 1991. It is still my go-to Bible when I am away from home but it has fallen apart through the years. It has a unique cover design having an triquetra (Latin “three-cornered”), which is an ancient symbol for the Trinity. It is the same size as your review Bible but I think that is where the similarities end. The biblical text is presented verse-by-verse, with paragraph breaks represented by bold verse numbers. When a New Testament writer quotes the Old Testament, the quotes are set in Oblique Type font; and if its is Poetry that is quoted, the text is presented as contemporary verse. In addition, the font size and design (8 or 8.5 point), along with the quality of the print and its contrast to the paper whiteness, make this Bible much more easy for my eyes to read compared to other Bibles I have with similar font size. I have looked and looked for a replacement Bible but have not found one yet. If only Thomas Nelson would release another version of the one I currently have. I want to extend its life and have recently seen TH-cam videos of large Bibles that have been restored or given a make-over (?). I don’t know if this can be done with compact Bibles. Any suggestions?
You should look up some of the Bible rebinders. Maybe they can do that for you. They can be pricey for the full size Bibles, but I don't know if they charge by the size or how that works.
Oh, man, I wish I could see this in person. I am tempted to switch from ESV to NKJV. Or at least try it. But 7 point sounds super small. But I've heard there's been a bit of disagreement on font sizes and such, especially between different translations. I wonder how this compares with my ESV Large Print Compact, which is 8 point. But if this one is 1) line matched and 2) black letter, it may work for me. I can still see my ESV, just not for long periods of reading. It's an older one and I don't think it's line matched. The red letter is especially "muddy" and strains my poor old, tired eyeballs. Anyway, thank you for this review. There's a faux leather one at Christianbook for about $20. Maybe I'll just buy it and if it doesn't work for my eyes, I can donate it.
I just bought this and love it! I've deemed it as my FUN Bible!

Oh wow cool, glad you’re enjoying it! I’ve never seen a Pitt Minion in person

@@joyg7575 yeah they seem to always do a nice job with the Maclaren series Bibles from what I’ve seen
@@TheBibleReviewer yes, they really do.
The text block is really nice, slightly smaller print than I want to deal with. I had one in my car and gym bag (inside a freezer bag) for two years.

Thank you for your personal insight! Very cool to hear peoples experiences and thoughts other than my own

Thank you for the review.
No problem!
Isbn a long time 🤣
Ok that’s a good one 😂
I think I’d like it if the raised hub spine didn’t have those gold lines that make it look too busy, less is always more imho.
Agreed I prefer mostly clean spine layouts as well
