I've just returned from Katowice and I was very shocked by terrible condition of their rails, in some places, it looks very dangerous, like somewhere in Ukraine, why they don't fix it? My father was tram driver in Prague and he said that in Prague they would have to completely close it if it was in this condition, but in Katowice, they drive pretty fast on such terrible rails. 🙂In center of Katowice it's not that bad (but still not good), but when you go to Sosnowiec and other far places, it's really really bad. It's a big contrast when you look on their pretty modern trams mostly in good condition, those trams must be somehow designed to survive such rails, if they had škoda 14t on such rails, it would end in first turn. 😀 In Prague, people scream to driver when their bags are traveling on floor, in Katowice when tram is going to turn, it literally teleports you on other side of tram. 😀
