My Ted Greene Story: Blues Guitar Tone (& Paul Davids' Autumn Leaves?)

- Two hours on July (7th, I believe) of 1995 was enough to affect me forever. Ted Greene is more of an inspiration to me than most would ever know. Who would have thought the chord chemist would have given a young budding blues guitar player advice. The rest shouldn't offend anyone, it's very gentle and anything but caustic or critical....we do tend to protect those we love. I came to love Ted Greene, and wish dearly I'd had the chance to actually study with him, one-on-one. Ted was a genius.

Excellent! Appreciate the mention of Mr. Ted Greene. The line “who wants to play heavy metal anyways when you can play buddy Guy?” I mean right!!??
I hope these videos take off for ya!
Absolutely. Ted was all-around special :-)
The way you tell a story is incredibly captivating, and it keeps you glued to the screen! Even though I don’t have the same insight into the guitar world as you, it’s amazing to be taken on a journey to places and people I’ve never encountered. You bring a deeply personal touch and commitment to the story, and you’re honestly just as great a storyteller as you are a guitarist.
Thank you so much! That legitimately does make a difference to hear, particularly since I wasn't entirely sure looking at metrics, view durations, etc....though before the TH-cam channel started people used to regularly tell to me blog. I'll take your reply to heart.
I Dig your Channel
Thanks
Thank you for watching! I appreciate you choosing to spend a little of your time on this channel and am glad you're here.
I’ve long had a copy of Chord Chemistry- as a casual player, it’s like jumping into the deep end of the pool with every page turn. Bought Ted’s album also. He always seemed gracious in all the vids I’ve watched of him. Wish I could have met him. Thx again Sean for all the pro tips and encouragement you generously offer everyone.
Glad you're mentioning Ted Greene. He flies under most people's radar. There's a video of Ted playing at a noisy wedding reception where he's playing one of his beautiful chord melody arrangements while having an extended conversation with someone. He never missed a beat. People who know his playing and approach to music know how special Ted Greene was. Tim Lerch is a guitarist to check out who mentions Ted Greene quite often and comes from his style.
Thanks! Always great to hear from you. I'm days behind on notifications and responding to comments but you know it's legitimate. Not singling anyone out but you were here and encouraging me early on and always want you to know it made a positive and helpful difference. I've seen that footage of Ted too!
@@thefretboardplayground Very kind of you to say, Sean. I know how time consuming the social element is to maintain with your channel. Don't stress on my account. I plan on staying around. I'm 68 years old and very low maintenance.
