Soundwave is amazing. He was basically 1v2 with Optimus and Megatron And 4v 5 if we count the rest of the Cybertronians too. An dge almost killed them several times during the fight. And the fact that he did playback Megatron's voice was savage move. Soundwave is the decepticon cause.

The only reason they were leaders is because they were either scary or really good at leadership. Even skywarp and novastorm held their ground against them both. The show isn’t trying to go off on a galactic scale war but is instead trying to tell a more localised story, get over your previous bias and look at these characters as a new interpretation of the other characters.
