    It did the same for me my tank is running for 6 months i had no phos problem like i have to dose some cause i get 0 with low range tester so short story i wasnt able to lower my nitrate even with the refugium so i started the nox pox and suddently i got cyano all over the place my nitrate dropped under control but i keep getting cyano back what ive heard is that nox pox is a food for some type of bacteria that live in the water column but When they are barely there cyano eat whats left and eat the nox instead of the good bacteria thats suppose to grow from that food so what ive seen is that you have to introduce these bacteria to counter the cyano…

      or use a very little bit. like a simple squirt into the tank from the bottle daily.

      You’re supposed to dose reef energy with this daily to add nutrients back in. That’s supposed to prevent the problems and also feed the corals.

    What are your PO4 at? Aim for a NO3 (10-15) PO4(0.1-0.15) if you can keep it in that ratio the redslime will dissappear eventually.

      hard to test when the algae is eating it...non measurable.

    Have you checked the potassium levels?? Low levels can be a major cause of coral and fish demise.

    My tank is doing kinda the same right now plus damn hair algae I'm dosing small amounts of sugar. My nitrates are still around 30 after large water change ???

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      how long have you been dosing sugar? took me a week or two of 2 teaspoons of sugar a day to see the drop.

      @@ROTTERtube will be two weeks coming this Wed. At one and a half teaspoons. My tank is also fallow at the moment wich is even more confusing.

      @@kengilmore4384 Make sure you're changing out your mechanical filtration and make sure your skimmer is skimming well. Do water changes. Not sure how large your tank is but the larger the changes the better. I do 10% every weekend and have moved to 20%. The bio load shouldn't be high at all with no fish. Make sure you vacuum the sand surface...not too deep...during water changes. Why is the tank fallow?

      @@ROTTERtube I somehow introduced ick. Only fish to live is my hippo tang who is in quarantine my tank is a 75 gal. Skimming really well . Will change filtration media

    How did your Tangs die? Old age? Ich or Marine Velvet?

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say old age, since they were 5 years old or so. They just passed. I miss those guys.

    I don’t know what your filtration looks like but you don’t have enough live rock and in my belief and I’m not saying I’m correct you have two fish that need a bigger space than the aquarium that you have them in

    You may want to let the tank run with out any dosing with livestock at least a year with just water changes and a refugium dosing starts problem and water changes is the best for stability

      Probably the best advice I used to have more luck when I wasn’t chasing numbers or dosing anything in my tank . The hardest thing is to fight the urge to manipulate your water chemistry

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. I rarely dose....just sugar for higher nitrates if needed. Tank has been up for 7 years.

      Never ever buy this s***!!! It immediately depleted your tank of oxygen, resulting in catastrophic death from fish! Garbage product!

    Carbon dosing is no joke. I think you are seeing different experiences with NOPOX vs. Sugar becuase of potency. Not entirely sure what Red Sea uses in NOPOX but at the end of the day some form of carbon source. Id say something similar to vinegar. Keep up the fight. Chemiclean is a great option. Been using it for years 0 issues. Keep the vids coming!

      Thanks Nanojoe! makes sense. I thought it was something like that. no more nopox for me I think.
