I wonder if they all need a bigger enclosure, just to be able to establish their own community groups? They're so cute! I hope they thrive in their new setups.
Wow, first time I’ve been so early. You do a great job keeping your pets. Always a good moment when you post. Your chill vibe is relaxing, and you’re always so informative. You do great things for people with arachnophobia. 😊
I’ve bred them and have multiple communals with hundreds of slings being produced. they are definitely communal you just need food always available for them and more space
@@tarantulakat you could grow them bigger then put them back together, I’ve added more into other communals further down the line and found no issues at all. I have found that you do get one or two that basically steal all the food for themselves and I did spilt an eggsac by mistake once and an elder sibling ate the eggs 😬 but I also have a huge three foot communal with all sizes in that is thriving and I think that’s down to the amount of space they have.
yeah I have 2 small sling comumunals 4 in one 3 in the other .. I just toss in lots of fruit flies every couple of days, seems to be working just fine, I did notice they all find their own areas to build a nest, unlike my dumicolas who all stay together in a group
i keep seeing them sold as groups of 3 i would love to have a communal group of them. The only thing i'm wonder is will they breed and how many babies are expected i don't think i can handle that lol
This reminds me of the debate over bettas in the fish keeping world. Some bettas (male and female) do well in a community tank, and some females can do well in a sorority tank. Some DO NOT. I think it may just be individual features.
My 5 year old niece isn't scared of spiders when she watches your videos. She told me that the boys are scary. LOL. Your videos are helping her not be afraid of arachnids.
They are absolutely communal. There are a few of us breeders in the uk who have communals thriving, Particularly phidporium who was the second person in the uk to breed them and has basically supplied 99% of them here! She has since had hundreds. She has a huge communal who are consistently producing. You will always get stronger and weaker babies as that’s why they have so many :) I have found when the are babies to make sure there is constantly food in the enclosure. Once they reach juvie I feed 2 to 3 times a week and always put more food in than the number of spiders. Hope this helps
I’m seeing a lot of people dispute that now, so that combined with my experience of having some hog food, grow rapidly and gain size while others seem to struggle and die just makes me want to separate some to be safe .. I’ll keep a few communal as I said but if I observe the same thing I’m going to also separate them because I rather them not die 😬
@@tarantulakat fair enough :) touch wood I’ve had no problems with cannibalism thankfully and I’ve kept a lot of them together! Enough space and consistent/extra food seems to be the best 😊 I’ve kept those and the stegodyphus lineatus and the stegodyphus tibialis communally too in same ways (except obviously the stegodyphus, are arboreal) and always been okay x
I have vision problems and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to catch, handle, or feed spiders the small insects they need. I don't really want a spider large enough to eat crickets et cetera! Oh, crickets smell awful to me. It surprises me when other people can't smell them! It's not quite the same as actually keeping a spider (jumping spider???) as a pet, let alone breeding them, but I do enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Maybe Velvet Spiders are like Leopard Geckos, some thrive in colonies some need to be alone. I enjoy all your videos, you're make such educational content. It's all about learning from your collection and not relying only on "other experts".
I really enjoy watching your channel. I like watching you put together enclosures. Your jumping spiders are my favorite. I am from Tennessee it is difficult finding a pet store that has the jumping spiders. I was wondering. Where do you get your jumping spiders from?
This is really interesting. I wonder if temperament (personalities? Arachalities?) differences are genetic too, and whether selectively putting together calmer more communal ones foster more communal behaviours? Guess in the wild the more dominant ones tend to establish faster but if they are pets maybe the communal traits are advantageous? Just a thought.
She looks like a full Tick!😭 Diet for sure!😆❤ Glad 2 of 3 are fine. Looks like Competition for sure. The Buttwiggle trying to get you!😂❤ Awesome Progress.
I just want to say, and I know it’s taboo, so I’m going to say I hope you’re not sick and I’m not assuming that you are sick, but your voice does sound different in this video, and I’m a very big fan of the way that it sounds. Certain things that you say, it drifts ever so slightly into almost Harley Quinn or Fran Drescher, and I think that’s really cool!
I abolutely love your videos, I get so excited everytime I see a new upload form you. You are the reason I've decided to get my very first spider and I'm actually getting a Grammostola Pulchra :D Thanks for your awesome videos
"Are you trying to bite me? That's adorable!"
Thats not a spider.. thats a tick!
it really looks a lot like a tick...
4 real 😱🙈
I stopped the video to come and comment this 😂😂
I was just thinking it looked like a very well fed tick
I wonder if they all need a bigger enclosure, just to be able to establish their own community groups? They're so cute! I hope they thrive in their new setups.
Currently watching this with my not so baby velvet spider in the enclosure next to me, fell in love with keeping spiders because of you girlie 🖤

I mean, there are some that are extremely obese and grow rapidly and others that stay skinny and die so I don’t really want to risk it anymore.

Definitely more space needed and more food. It could be the females that are getting bigger and fatter

Aw he looks like a tick! 😂
Sitting here watching the video and hearing Blue Jays.. yet none were in my yard lol then realized it was coming from the video lol
Oh my gosh, she looks like a little tick 😂
Exactly what I thought too 😅
First chonky lil baby's absolute flail as they reached the end of the moss and your finger wasn't there. lol

Kat: " oh this one is chunky too.."
Baby: "My name is Wednesday Montoya. You fat shamed me. Prepare to die" (bite that deals 0.5 hp)
Awww Wednesday had babies?!?! I'm late to the show. Congrats Mama Wednesday!! ❤🎉🖤🖤🖤🖤
Kat, I must say, your hair is so beautiful that color, it looks amazing on you!!!
The space is too small for that many🥹 with gandanameno they need more room to prevent this happening. They absolutely are communal!
Spiders having beef with one another😅
That chunky one should be named Fat Albert LOL!!!
Rofl, that chunky baby is like,... tick who ????
I just got an orange ring Eresus and its a teeeeny tiny spiderling like this lol I cant wait for it to grow a lil bigger! Awesome video!

Those tiny enclosures are so cute!
I have a baby and it's huge and thriving like that it eats A LOT
The baby velvet spiders look so much like ticks 😞
Because of you , if I get another spider it's your vids. Makes me miss my lil buddy.
Your hair looks super cool.
I had 3 velvets and lost 2. Hopefully the last little baby is still alive in there!
I am pretty scared of spiders but I do enjoy watching you and your spooders ❤
The velvet spiders look like ticks…like the look and color of the body
@4:15 it looks like a tick and eats like one too lol
Call the conky one a peanut 😂
5:56 not what I was expecting for live action attack on titan.
Thank you for the video Kat, I enjoyed it.
Kat, your hair, outfit, and everything is so cute in this video!! Good thinking by separating them 💯😁

I don’t understand how they need such little air . There’s no way those holes are letting hardly any air in
Luv these lil critters Kat ..
omg they’re so chunky they look like ticks!! 😂😅 yet still adorable
I love " lil chunky"
Please name them that
You look so cute caring for the kids
Forgive me. But that baby looks like a swollen tick lol 😂

The Buttwiggle trying to get you!😂❤ Awesome Progress.
I know this is random, but have you ever thought of getting pink dragon millipedes specifically the Desmoxytes Planata
I got 2 velvet spiders, e. Walckenaeri, from the same clutch and one is like 3 times the size of the other at 8 months old
Definitely name the big baby Chubbie. 😂😂
Is it just me or does anyone else just think tick with long legs when you see these babies?
Yep - tick!
@@robinmixon6999 I wanna love them so much. at least they're just many molts away from looking like their parents. 🤣
Great video
i love the the velvet spiders
I'm so sorry.....but they look too much like ticks- 🤣
I believe there is cause to seperate.
Probably best letting them separate
Yeah I really don’t wanna lose any more. If someone can show me proof they thrive communally I can always re introduce them.
Sheesh, it looks like a tick lol
So tiny cute spider can I have one or adopt one
They look like ticks. Lol.
How to handle a pink toe tarantula with out me loosing it but want to hold really 😅
14 comment awesome video today Kat you are the best TH-camr ever and happy Wednesday 💯👍👍💪💯💪👍
