I believe we should support our young generations who has reached to this level. Nepali is a second language for Anuyha. Trying to learn, speak a new language is already a challenge on itself, leave alone singing songs and competing with others who are singing in their first language. Before Anuyah tries to sing any songs in Nepali, she has to listen, know words, understand the meaning of words and learn and understand lyrics. This is a very very difficult task for a child. You must have heard these comments made by the judge, presenter and her dad. For our brain to process second language, our brain has to go through series of steps. Listening-processing-understanding-repeating the words/language many times in brain before the words actually come out of our mouth. Anuyah has work 10 times harder than other contestants to be able to compete with them. She probably doesn’t understand the lyrics but still she sings BEAUTIFULLY!!!! There is a saying “to be good and fluent in another language, one should be able to dream in that language. It would probably be easier for Anuyah to sigh English songs as she doesn’t have to translate the words, meaning and tone of the language. As a community, its our responsibility to support, encourage and promote our new generation to preserve our language and culture. This is about but acknowledging Anuhya’s hard work and dedication. This also encourages other new generations to take risks as Anuyah. I am all the way from Australia. I don’t know Anuyah but I still supported her with open heart. Our small contributions make huge difference. I wish Anuyah all the best!!
