This movie deserves a part 2 or at least a reboot. There were infinite possibilities for 2nd half, the train scene in the end was pretty good and very well directed. I'd love to see srk putting on the superhero suit again and make a movie which solely focus on the stopping the villain.

Very underrated, even Indian superhero channels never cover this movie😔 only Captain B2 explained the movie once. I think a big youtuber like ComicVerse or BnfTV or PJ Explained should make a video on this movie.
"Bhare Naina" was the best thing about the movie... Unfortunately, Nandini Srikar has not been given sufficient chances despite delivering severely brilliant songs like "Bhare Naina" and "Duaa" !!! Definition of Underrated !!!

the major reason for failure of such good movies is the audience that can afford to develop the sense for such movies and genuinely believe in good content is very less so movies like singham and shit work but Bhavesh Joshi is something most people haven't heard of

The perticular audience who visit theatre and buy tickets is largely low income people. They got humiliated day by day working so theatres are their escape from reality. They goes to entertain themselves, not to face their real life issues.
The persons are subscribed to ott is extremely different from them. And gen z often not like to walk by those low income people.
P. S- a farmar in karnataka is humiliated because he have no "class" today. Often these peoples forced to take service lift and stairs and get kicked in class divided society.

I think the movie lacked a good story line and had some logic mistakes and the audience here was not ready to accept such superhero films 💯

1)Poor animation quality , in this age where many people in India are watching Hollywood movies Ra one seemed like pogo
2)story was non existent and plot was a joke
3) action choreography is good for a South Indian commercial movie not a superhero sci-fi
4) all jokes in the movie are so basic that seasoned movie watcher will find it unfunny

One was great and unique cause it doesn't use the worldwide used plot like villain is rich Af with thousands of bodyguards but still greed for more money and kidnapping or killing someone close to hero for some weird reason and then those thousands of bodyguards getting beaten by single hero then you know villain dies and then happy ending

No disrespect atleast they tried. But the issue with SRK is he play it too safe.
I mean go for a great script, original story. Why you need rip-off a story, pick a ruined script and add songs & dance in a sci fi movie?

na man time ki baat hai wo 2011 ke wakt ahead of time thi but Age of Ultron aur avataar aa chuki thi so Indian Cinema ke liye bas badi baat thi same in 2022 endgame jaisi movie ban chuki hain but Brahmastra Indian cinema ke liye badi baat hai agar tum is ladai mein lag agye kaun behtar hai toh phir ye genre peeche reh jayega are support karke toh dekho jo kabhi ni kia wo toh karke dekho aaj tak industry se gobar nikal raha tha tum kha rhe the ab agar koi sade donut de raha toh atleast le toh lo

The film Raone was way ahead of it's time, I don't know if it's just me , or the Road chase scene is quite similar to the chase scene of Captain america CIVIL WAR where Steve and Black panther chases bucky. Raone was released 4 year before civil war.
I am not saying Marvel has copied it, or maybe they have, let's not get into it, but Ra one really deserves a lot of credit.
And it was made at the fraction of Civil War's Budget...
Actually both of them are kinda shot in the same fashion. Where the actors run in normal speed on a platform that is moving very fast.

When I was a kid and I watched this movie. I literally was mad about it, I loved it, it is still a good movie for childrens, this movie had top call VFX as per 2011 and still has better then most of the movies.
I think Shah Rukh should make it's part 2 with a good script if he's able to.

I still feel it was decent introduction movie, SRK should make 2nd part before it gets too late, now India have good amount of superhero fans which will turn up to watch Sequel unlike in 2010s where people only knew Spiderman and Batman and MCU and DCEU were in early stages only 2-3 movies.
Also vision of SRK was great especially showing character of ROBOT as cameo (Superhero crossover movie)and having room for sequel as coming back as G. One in end. With success of sooryawanshi I am convinced that People will consume any crap under the genre of crossover universe (cop, superhero)
If he somehow convince Rakesh Roshan for Krishh and already introduced ROBOT they can gave us banger indian superhero universe. (Just left out Flying Jatt😂) SRK, Hritik, Rajani (for South audience) will be more than enough to attract pan Indian audience to theatres.
Flying Jatt could be used for humour part in the alliance like say Deadpool.

I still remember having literal shivers at the end of first half. The biggest reason behind failure of the movie was probably Robot. Everybody was comparing it to that movie especially the second half were the climax was set in real world so stacks were high.

Vfx was on point story was crap! I trolled my sis by giving her the movie saying its best SRK movie! Since she was a SRK fan! She came from bus journey from her college which like a boarding school. She came home after months. SHe took the DVD started the movie. ANd I was smiling mischievously.

I was 6 at the time the movie released and i watched it in the theatre. The movie was so great that the six year old me was mesmerised the whole time.

ra-one was a movie which i loved sm, and i still don't understand why it didn't created an impact???? atleast glad the music is still celebrated today hope the movie will someday deserve what it got.
I think the main reason why commercial movies do better in theatres is because people want to escape from reality and commercial movies provides them just that, but movies like masaan make people think about society, reality etc. which they want to escape.
As time passes People will start understanding how underrated this movie was!

because of OTT, now audience is maturing, collection of Satyamev Jayate 2, 83 are the best examples and the craze for movies like Tumbbad, Pushpa too.
It lack execution apart from that movie had strong bgm, neat vfx, amazing camera shots, original action, unique costume, futuristic concept, hero crossover, R-rated scenes etc everything that you expect from hollywood movies, movie deservee a second chance like suicide Squad 2 and it was a nice movie came up in the times when there was no mcu or dceu nobody even know who is Iron Man. I won't hesitate to say this movie as failed masterpiece and srk added in interview that in sequel he will used chitti Robot and other characters from video game who knows it was beginning of our own video game universe.
We need more such narratives this was awesome ❤❤

I was in 11th class when Ra One came out and till date I love it while being aware of it's flaws and always day dreaming about how it could've been better. But the bitter reality as you said - Indian audience at large still isn't ready for Superhero content.
For some weird reason I feel like instead of being made into movies, concepts like Bhavesh Joshi, Minnal Murli and Ra One could make the safest lift off if they were episodic series on OTTP.
And there are insane benefits of doing that - you get more runtime to sink the audience in the your world and its lore, you don't have to cut corners like making movie forcefully commercial - even if it is meant for a specific audience - in time it catches the fire and starts trending like anything (provided it's good), after each episode the viewers are left to think on what they saw in the last ep which warms them up for what's next unlike a movie where everything is just rushed down within a 2 hour mark.
Would love to see SRK attempt something similar to this but make it more channelized on a target audience instead of going mass commercial.

Actually the thing that makes commercial masala movies success is there freaking too many kids(thanks to indian mummy papa) so they actually can't go to cinema to watch movies but what I think with time when these bacchas would grow up consume some sensible content they would understand. Even in America initially when cinema was new to people people used to think cinema is saturated among kids only but with time their movies evolved but we as indians does not accept evolution that's why there are practices like parda pratha, sati etc. We should learn from West there were pictures like James Bond, rush hour which if a person today will see call it a average but they evolved and people accepted it. And secondly I think indians just are offended easily now I don't need to give examples you know cancel culture in india. So yeah that's why show like bojack horseman and the office with dark humor don't do well in India. So yeah I think people would start to evolve with this spark of ott platforms.
There are lots of animated movies parents can watch with their kids which are well written, made for kids and are highly creative
BFG, Coco, Up, inside out, soul are great examples of it
If we skip the Story & judge ra. one solely on its VFX .......it was awesome
I don't understand how did this movie flop. When I went to single screen theater there was a lot of traffic around it. People were fighting in the line of ticket because seats were less we got the seats but some people broke in to watch it. It felt like a crowded local train. People sitting on stairs, others heads. To remove so many people was not possible so they all watched the film

What I personally feel is that the theatre-going audience is not open to try something new and leaving that our censorboard is a fucking mess.
If this movie had such a scene as Shah Rukh Khan mentioned i.e. a 16-year-old girl offering himself to ra. one there would have been riots and again we would have started with a boycott campaign.

We Indians have no background with superheroes. Our parent's generation didn't grow up with anime and cartoons as we did. If films like Ra-one come in 2030 it would be a hit because our generation and our kid's generation both will watch them.
