Jane Disney Doll Hair Reroot from Tarzan (1999 Mattel)

- This Mattel doll of Jane finally got a hair reroot make-over! This Disney Heroin from the movie Tarzan only has a couple of dolls that are made by Mattel.

I got this Disney doll second hand, so her hair was in pretty bad condition. That's why I decided to reroot Janes hair using saran hair.
The reroot hair I used was medium length saran hair from dollyhair.com. I used the colors:
40% Mocha Brown
25% Golden Brown
25% Cafe Latte Brown
10% Chestnut Brown

I always wanted to know how she'd look like with longer hair as even the loose-haired one from Mattel has it too short. Now I know she looks awesome, thank you!

I watched this video a few weeks ago, and I just found my very own Jane doll at a thrift store today! She came with her outfit (minus her gloves), but her socks were on her hands for some reason. Her hair is still perfectly in place as well, albeit rock hard with gel. It even came with the little baboon companion and the box (minus the inner bit with the background). I was so surprised, and only recognized her because of this video.

My childhood doll.. I owned this doll and Tarzan (with the mic recorder in the back) and I would spend my days watching the movie :)

Fun Fact: Jane was apart of the official Disney princess lineup, but later was removed for having a similar appearance to Princess Belle.
Esmerelda was also part of it, but was removed because her movie was not fit for children of young age.
Tinkerbell was apart of it but was removed because she created her own franchise: Disney Fairies.
Elsa and Anna were going to be apart of it, but their movie made so much it created its own franchise.
Megara and Kida have not been in the the list.
Alice was not part of it due to her story being from a book, while the others are fairy tales.
Eilonwy's movie made so little they didn't even think about adding her.
Giselle almost became an official princess but they decided not to.
Anastasia is owned by fox, fox was bought by Disney but its to late for her.
Any princesses who are an animal cannot join the lineup, since there are requirements to join the lineup. One of them is you have to be human or have a similar appearance to one.
Vanellope made her own franchise.
Elena and Sophia are from a tv series you have to be in a movie .(not sequels)
Melody is in a sequel therefore she cannot join.

What a good find! On some of the older dolls I have found and rerooted, I've had to do new holes as well. Not sure why. But yeah. Looks good!

I also found Jane secondhand. My doll's hair is so solid with gel that it's hard as a rock. She didn't have anything other than her dress and one glove. I was still happy to find her.
All I need now is Kida. Too bad the Disney Store doesn't believe in keeping up with the non princess dolls, even around their 20th anniversary.
Jane's face is so peachy pink it's hard to match. Mine has to keep her original body for now.

Their is a new made to move dolls maybe one of them matches her skin much better I saw it at Walmart
I don't think so! Most of the made to Move bodies have a jellow/orange undertone, instead of the pink in the face color

Take your time! And make sure your needle is not too big!
Do you only need to order one medium hair set thing to cover the whole dolls head? Or did you need to get two?
Yes! I only use 1 set on dollyhair.com! For both the long and the medium hair, 1 set is enough for a full head
Wow she's so pretty! My favourite doll re root so far is Gamora! What's the difference between Saran and Nylon hair? Also what type of hair do Hasbro Disney princess dolls use?
I'm not sure what type Hasbro uses. Nylon is thicker than saran I believe, which makes curls hold better, but also makes it less soft (in my opinion)
TheDollBoy I can't really tell. Saran is softer but Nylon is shiner from what I can tell! I re-rooted my Marvel Black Widow figure in Saran and I'm so happy with the results (considering she only stands 6 inch tall). The hair colour is platinum blonde (as it's supposed to resemble the Infinity War version) and is so soft!!! I think generally, majority of dolls use Saran as it's cheaper and softer. Nylon is heat resistant and shiner, also more expensive.
