Some scenes look like they were filmed months apart. Scully looks drastically different randomly. If two agents discovered as many skeletons as they did there would be hundreds of feds there real quick. Scully just laying them out by herself on a blue tarp. This is actually in my top 12. I give it an 8. It's a good episode when your scrolling through. You have revived my appreciation for The X-Files and I thank you.

This was another one that I read the teen novelization of. Still kinda floored that it got one.
Also, fun fact: I'm from New Zealand originally and the Maoris had a history of cannibalism. Not out of hunger, but as a ritualistic practice, believing that consuming some of the flesh of your enemies would grant you their strength.

In Jane Goldman’s X-Files book of the unexplained 2. Frank Spotnitz picked CJD due to some articles he read about Mad Cow Disease thinking it to be slightly obscure. By the time the episode aired the mad cow thing had reached a ‘fever pitch. It was ironic, per the book, that the disease chosen for its obscurity became the most talked about thing in Europe, and beyond.

Every small town has an out group. The people the 'pillars of the community' look down their noses at. I guess that was who they were eating before? Though you'd think those people would have noticed their own disappearing and gotten the heck out of dodge when the sheriff didn't seem too concerned/started asking what spices you were allergic to.

This episode always lurks in the back of my mind and is probably why I'm paranoid about any recall I hear. There's been a lot this year too.... nonetheless, this episode really is scary due to how possible contamination is. The extra elements make it feel silly and almost make you forget about the whole disease(s) in the chicken part of the episode.
I never know how to feel about this one... part of me thinks it's a decent episode and fun to watch and then there's the part of me that wishes I'd never seen it... quite conflicted on it in all honesty...
