You should explore the history of the "Estado de Los Altos" (State of the Highlands) or "Sexto Estado de la Federación Centroamericana" (Sixth State of the Central American Federation), which declared its independence in 1838 and lasted until 1840. You have covered states which lived only for a couple of months, yet left out an actual, real state that for many (of us) still exists due to the fact that it was never legally dissolved, only annexed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Altos_(state)
So is Northern Ireland of The UK *So is Sea land of The UK* -----> He talked about this one in the first video *So is Cyprus split between The UK and Turkey* ------> This one was also talked about So is Puerto Rico of The US
We've had the Julian and the Piratini Republics in South Brazil which actually got independent for a while. There was also Canudos, which was destroyed because of their self rule; and also the Republic of Acre, which declared independence just to join Brazil little time later.
Sander Skovly Yeah! I really forgot to mention Bolivia in the Acre's part. Bolivians are still a bit pissed with that, but at leasy it wasn't an open war like the ones they had with Chile and Paraguay.
EMS 76 the conflict is between anglophones who see south and North American as separate continents and Spanish speakers who see America as a single continent.
Funny you should mention Rapanui. The British did the same with The Treaty of Waitangi here in New Zealand, although our government is not as restrictive as Chile, they are still pretty mischievous in their dealings. Also Rapanui had always been inhabited, I don't know why people assume it wasn't.
a note about Mosquitia. it was a british protectorate and the original terryotry was only in todays Nicaragua, it never included CostaRica but the british fabricated that claim in an attempt to invate and colonaze CostaRica but as tentions between USA and UK grew they gave up the plan to anex the costarican region on Limon to Mosquitia, CostaRica's caribean region (Limon) was part of the Cabecar kingdoms before the spanish conquest not the moquitians.
The Mapuche of Chile are semi indigenous, because they actually don’t live in separate ways as Chileans. They semi preserved they culture because many of their traditions are part of the Chilean people, even the vocabulary. They are still “fighting their rights” both pacific and radical way. The radical part are fueled by international leftist organizations (as well nationals) making acts of terrorism and sabotage to the government and the civilians. The vast majority of the Mapuche are not sided with this view but they don’t say much against about it. Rapa Nui are a separate history. In few words, if Chile concede total independence to the island, taking of all the government infrastructure, they will die or many will flee to the mainland
You failed to leave A blank space in the middle of the Navajo Reservation. A SEPARATE indigenous culture and pueblo tribe that has historical claims to the Four Corners region with physical evidence in settlement ruins
Land doesn’t belong to people.People belong to the land.Ideally ,people should live in peace and go wherever they want. Just take what you need and nothing more.
America, a huge landmass that encompasses North America, Central America, and South America. Named after Américo Vespucci, an Italian navigator that explored the coasts of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina. The term came to encompass the whole of S. America and the Spanish spread the name to the rest of its empire further north. Later, other countries called their colonies in the New World, their American colonies, just like the Spaniards and Portuguese had done so. So the name is not just synonymous to a particular country, but also all countries of the Western Hemisphere, hence the Organization of AMERICAN States, The Pan-American Unión, which predates the OAS, and the Pan American Games. The Americas or America is correct for the big landmass in the Western Hemisphere and according to the dictionary, all citizens of the American countries, can also be called American, even though the US is the country that mostly uses that term to describe its citizens.
Wholly agree with that, except for the fact that maybe the Carribean should be included/mentionned in your definition of 'America' as well, unless maybe you're sticking to the Portuguese definition which includes in Central America.
Loved this video. If you do make a part 2, please do Texas, California, New England, Vermont, New Hampshire, CSA, Alaska, Hawaii, Deseret, Cascadia, Florida, Quebec, Zapatista, etc. There’s a lot of movements in North America lol. Once again, I loved the video. I didn’t know about the native movements other than Lakota.
Hunter Smith Doesn’t mean they’re not as interesting or important. Anyway, you don’t hear many people talking about the New Hampshire secession movement. Lol
TheMewx The American revolution had the support of around a third of the populace of colonial America. None of these separatist groups have even that. Hell, I’m pretty sure none of them even have a whole percentage of their states population supporting them.
I live in the argentinian part of the supposedly Mapuche territory and let me tell you there is no way they are getting anything more than some hectares in some remote part of Chubut (argentine province). Even though there are people here with some mapuche blood (maybe even me) the customs, rules, way of living reflects that of the rest of Argentina or specifically Buenos Aires, which is influenced primarily by southern european countries. Theres little trace of the mapuche culture in this side of the Andes
Lol cant take a joke? But really, Canada bassicaly invaded the US just to burn down the white house and cause other less mentioned chaos, i think it was quite polite to just leave after wards. Consider yourself lucky buddy, mabby i wasnt joking.
@Andrew lol u alright man? XD ( u know the Dutch have also claims on the US that region was back then called "New Netherlands" ) if u don't believe me search it it's true.
Andrew relax bro don’t be so arrogant every empire falls if you think that can’t happen to the states you must be a product of the American public school system.
@Andrew The only reason New England wasn't annexed by GB at the end of the war of 1812 was because they had just defeated Napoleon and prevented other Europeans from slicing into France for new territory, thus it would not have looked good for GB to do the same in North America. So yeah, count yourself lucky I guess. Oh and also, saying you "tolerate" Canada and this inflated self opinion of yourself and your backwards nation shows me that it's actually YOU who could benefit from a bit of an education. Cheers!
See we people in Denmark is ok with Greenland being independent from us but every year we donate a large amount of money that we won't if they leave Denmark (they still want us to pay them if they leave Denmark but we won't if they leave so they are like *actually let's whit being our own country*)
well if u are right i did not know that and it is not a 100% cool but i can understand why we want some oil to i think 50% is a bit much (if u link to where u got that knowledge i would be interested to see it ^^)
Easter island is more of an Oceania territory.... still a 9.9/10 video though That’s 9.9 points higher than any of my vids After all I received a D- on the TH-cam channel review test What grade did you get for your channel?
Easter Island is a bit of a stretch, as it's technically a Polynesian island, not part of the Americas, but I guess it is by virtue of being part of Chile.
You forgot a few ones... Like the Ones in Brazil in the South, middle and Northeast regions... You also forgot some like Quebec, Patagonia and Cascadia
You should add in the next one: Texas 1836-46, Yucatan several times in the 1840's -1850's, Central American Federation 1820's-30's, Gran Colombia, to name a few... GOOD VIDEOS!!!!

Nelson Ricardo how is it wrong? Lol north and South *America* are terms for the entire continent, America. Where do you this the United States of America got its name, from this continent called America.
Dude, this is an English-language channel. The continents of North America and South America (two land masses barely connected) are collectively called "the Americas". Feel free to speak Spanish however you wish, but don't tell me how to speak my own language.
The way you structure and design your graphics is very similar to one certain football channel ( think it's called uMAXit football channel ), soccer of americans
Little known fact, possibly, for some viewers--"Dine" is the Navajo word for themselves; thus Dinetah is the Navajo Nation, which is probably 90% in Arizona, spilling over into New Mexico and Utah. I'm guessing Mapuche = ma-POO-chay, rather than ma-POOSH.
This channel is so good. Particularly considering that most of viewers are from Us and they think they own the world. Cheers from another country that probsbly you don't know exist !
Greenlandic independence won't happen for a while. The 2009 autonomy is essentially a reboot of the 1979 plan so independence is at least 50 years away.
Sorry that’s not the flag I know for Greenland (I always thought it had a cross like the rest of Scandinavia). Is there a history of it being changed or am I having a Mandela effect here?

You forgot the Republic of Yucatan (1841-1848) and the Mayan Rebel ruled Republic of Santa Cruz (1848-1909), in the present day Mexican Quintana Roo State.
1 of the country names that should have been included in this video is “America” itself, because a country with that name doesn’t exist either! But there does exist a country with the name “United States”! 🙂
Check out the video on the EASTER ISLAND! HERE: th-cam.com/video/gQbrW6WPnbk/w-d-xo.html

this needs to be a meme
Good Latokah meme!
I can't believe you didn't talk about Quebec
Only quabec seems to care about it's independence. Quabec would be annexed by the usa before it gets independence from canada.
That's a province of Canada
So is Northern Ireland of The UK
*So is Sea land of The UK* -----> He talked about this one in the first video

I would love a video on Easter island.
same here it will be good

Me too
Same! Please do it, General Knowledge!
I've been waiting for this for a while now. EDIT: You forgot about Cascadia.
I'll add it on Part 2 of this!
Cascadia formally declared independence?
People of Cascadia (Washington, Oregon, Jefferson (Upper California), BC and Alaska) are supporting a Cascadian independence.
I think it’s just some people. I live near Washington and I have never seen a person that suppports cascadian indepdence
ThunderFlakes Nowhere near a sizable protection of the population, let alone a majority.
We've had the Julian and the Piratini Republics in South Brazil which actually got independent for a while. There was also Canudos, which was destroyed because of their self rule; and also the Republic of Acre, which declared independence just to join Brazil little time later.
Piratini makes me envision a bunch of miniature size pirates.
Sander Skovly Yeah! I really forgot to mention Bolivia in the Acre's part. Bolivians are still a bit pissed with that, but at leasy it wasn't an open war like the ones they had with Chile and Paraguay.
The Woolly Eel It is the name of the town that acted as their first capital. Nowadays, the region is our Rio Grande do Sul state.

Always learning with these videos! Great work!
Please do a video on the Rapa Nui, the Easter Island.
"How unnacurately do you want Chilean history to be portrayed in this video" "yes"
Finally someone says that America is the whole continent!
It’s obviously two, even if you look at plate tectonic maps.
America is both North and South America. Two continents. Like Eurasia, Europe and Asia.
EMS 76 the conflict is between anglophones who see south and North American as separate continents and Spanish speakers who see America as a single continent.
MN purp
well North and South America ARE separate continents.
In some countries I think they consider North America and South America as just “America”

Hunter Smith It’s important to those seeking independence. Just about 200 years ago, our forefathers felt the same towards Britain.

The Lakotah one was actually done only by a group of 7 that made no effort to ask the people of the native tribes if it was something they even wanted
That Moskitia map is very unaccurate.
The country is located in Nicaragua and Honduras' coast and not in Costa Rica.
It's an old map dude. That's what the land looked like in 1894. Nothing like it is today. The map is correct. Moskita does not exist today.
Didn't realize I lived in Lakotah, always thought I was an american.
Can you please do a video on Easter Island?

1200? Who did Rapa Nui declare independence from?
No mention of the autonomous zapatista communes in Chiapas/Mexico. I thought they'd definitely be mentioned in a video like this.

The Lakotah one was made by a group of 7 people who didn’t ask the native people if they wanted the idea in the first place
There was a country that declared itself independent in early US History, I think due to disputes leading to double taxes.
You could also make a Countries That Don't Exist in Oceania.
"Mapush", im pretty sure it's Mapuche with a soft ch and you pronounce the e. Could be only in Spanish tho :)
Greenlandic independence won't happen for a while. The 2009 autonomy is essentially a reboot of the 1979 plan so independence is at least 50 years away.

Very impressive. Howard Zinn would approve.
