I can't believe that you make me understand something that I have been studying for about 7 years. I've got the theory but I didn't get the point! You're awesome, amigo! You got wha it takes....
Your teaching is clear and I need a video on Adverb TIME Clauses eg w/ as soon as/ while/ before/after etc. naturally changing the tenses and this video followed by DRILLS do you have anything to this issue thanks adina
Great video! You are a very good teacher! You explain with reason and it's very hard not being able to understand you! You are great! You are my favorite English teacher on TH-cam! I'm Brazilian, I speak English fluently, but I make many mistakes and I just started to go to ESOL classes to refresh my English. They tested me to see what level I was a couple weeks ago. I tested out on the listening/speaking test, but the writing and reading I did 5 on 6, still great for me! I trying to learn more academic vocabulary and I'm also attending GED classes. I plan on take the TOEFL test. Do you think I have a chance to score okay on TOEFL? And if you have any recommendations on what is good and practical to study for TOEFL, please let me know. I really love your videos! ❤️
thank you, Mr. Alex, for your English lessons it's so amazing there a video and quiz I hope this can improve my English, I hope you can make any video again English lesson again because in my country is hard to learn English
thank you so much for this great lesson! I need to ask you a question that rose in my mind while I was watching the video. Does all the adverb clauses start with a sub ordinating conjuction? thnk you and keep up! :)
Hey Alex, thanks for your lessons. I want ask you why i still have difficulties to distinguish the difference between Phrases or clauses, or better saying Noun Clause and Noun Phrase. What about the second sentence: Because there here was a lot of traffic, I showed up late. (Where is the subject in the first part of the sentence { dependent clause}?) What about this sentence: Why is it so hard to analyze this kind of sentence? What english grammar part should I learn or review for be able to do it? What do you suggest to me? Please Alex help please help. thank you.
what about reduction for present/past participle sentences? or present/past perfect passive? or continuous. for example :which has caused👉👉👉having caused. could u please make a video for them?
Hi Alex.. I have noticed something here. Can u tell me if we have to follow rules of grammar in writing advebial clauses of time. Ex: I did something after I 'had done' something. I noticed this rules not followed in ur examples.
Hi there! The first sentence are you sure that it is correct? "When I finished my work, I called you." I have learnt that adverb clause has to be simple present, I musen't use any verb time. (When I finish my work, I called you...)
The present simple is certainly common with adverb clauses, but you can use other tenses as well. The past simple is also common, and in some cases, the perfect tenses also work. When I finished my work, I went to meet a friend for coffee. When you've made a decision, let me know.
Thank you for answering my question. I'm confused a little bit... "When I finish my work, I called you" Is it correct? Are there any differences the meaning between two sentences?
Your sentence doesn't work because you're saying that you're not finished work (in the present), but that you called...in the past. To get your meaning, you would say "When I finish work, I'll call you" or "When I finished work, I called you."
The "If" clause uses the present simple, and the result clause uses the future simple in the first conditional. If I eat healthy, I'll feel better. If she's late, she'll miss the best part of the movie. If we don't do something soon, we will fail! I hope this helps.
@@engvidAlex Thanks but still is unclear why it was used Past Tense when the meaning of the sentence (for me) sounds like a future action(i will call).

hi Alex . will you make a lesson about [ that clauses] ,and thanks for what you did or do that helped,or helps me to learn english
Aiiiii Bonachera!
THE BEST!!!
Too much thanks
Good
Could someone explain me why in the first sentence is used Past Tense and not Future? E.g. When i will finish my work, i call you. Thanks
