Um, my wife and I thought she said “gape”. Would fit with the narrative of this horrifically unfunny opening sketch.
Kate walking on stage with her hair a tangled mess, soap all over her, and bubbles floating next to her was a perfect entrance.

From that very moment forward, I honestly thought I was going to die from laughing too hard! I dunno if it was because I was having flashbacks from Sleep Over 1 or what, but I honestly cannot remember the last time I laughed this hard!

Me too, but it was my parents' couch.
I was at an award show in the theater in Hollywood, where they hold the Oscars. I got my period, bled through my dress and stained the seat. But I left my mark in the famous theater! but as I get older, period mishaps don't bother me as much, but they have happened now and again. Most recently during a photoshoot ;( but I let it go and honor the bleed and hopefully not be too embarrassed by it. It is what it is.
I threw up in my friend's spare bed once and tried to hide the evidence by putting the sheets in the washer while everyone was asleep, but it had soaked through to the mattress too, and even though the stain was totally visible I played it off like nothing happened because I was so mortified.

My grandparents third floor kept flooding and I was accused for my "long baths" we found out it was a tampon and my grandparents were literally sat at the table listing who it could be like they were playing clue.

Love that the original Sleepover Dad was played by Adam Driver who was Jason Bateman's little brother in This Is Where I Leave You, would love it if they were brothers in this series too and their daughters are both friends and cousins!
The first version of this sketch was with Adam Driver, who has been one of the absolute best SNL hosts. However, Jason Bateman is just perfect for the role as the interrogating father, so this second version is actually better than the first.
This sketch was almost a carbon copy of the first one with Adam Driver. All the same plot points, characterizations, beats, comedy bits. Just a few tweaks. Why does SNL do it this blatantly?

They really missed an opportunity to have Kate leave a stain on the couch she keeps sitting on in this sketch too and then somehow explain that away. Would've been a nice twist to spice things up.

My girlfriend recently had an incident on the couch, like this. She was pretty emotional, crying and the like, so I was consoling her for about an hour. When she got up to go to the bathroom, I saw the back of her pants, and the couch cushion. While she was away, I tried to scrub it out a bit, to save her from the embarrassment, but it wasn’t coming out! She came out of the bathroom, around the corner, and into her room, with a jacket tied around her waist. She came back out with different pair of sweatpants. I just sat casually to the side with phone in hand, like I hadn’t even noticed, as she discovered the stain. She proceeded to throw the cushion cover in the wash. Later that night, her mom asked why the couch cushion was missing (we’re at her parents place). So she pulled her off to the side and explained, which they proceeded to laugh hysterically with each other about. Her dad walked in, asking what was so funny, and also questioning why the couch cushion was missing, making them laugh even harder! But there I was, knowing exactly what had happened, but letting her and her mom think no one knew. 😅 I’m thinking of forwarding this skit to her, now, as this was a few weeks ago, now. What do you think?? It would be funny, but maybe its better to let her think she saved face.

Kate is just getting more and more amazing. She is a fucking genius actor!! Seriously, her breadth of characters is incredible but the intensity of her characters just kicks ass. This is really funny. It reminds of how completely bizarre, yet hilarious, that weird "Hail" skit was a few weeks back. Kate is a national treasure.

The struggle is real when you are teenager
Sleeping over my best friend's house when her family was going through a time of turmoil. Nobody had replenished toilet paper, and I had nothing to wrap my pad in to throw it away. So, I stuffed it inside the empty TP cardboard, and called my mom to come get me. The struggle was definitely real.
