Well you know a lot goes into being a sport that qualifies for the Olympics. Yes, I think shooting and ping pong being in the Olympics, but not this, is stupid. However I know there are crazy requirements about a sport having an international championship/organization with a certain number of male and female members from a very high number of countries, and specific codes, and etc stuff that must be met.....and I wonder if Roller Skating has yet to reach that required goal. I don't think it has, and I think once it has, it should be a lot easier to get into the Olympics for sure!!! Problem is, a lot of Olympic judges, and those on the committee are a bunch of old decrepit sticks in the mud....so even once Roller Skating meets the requirements it might take some times.....honestly once the old guard in the Olympic Committee now is gone and buried and a new generation is in, things will look better for roller skating, inline skating, etc. things hoping to make it into the Olympics.
I rarely have seen roller skating, I love Ice skating and I have always followed the players! I love watching these rollerskaters, I wish there had been more televised events! Happy to find it on TH-cam !

Wonderful! Marvelous! I think she has been inspired by some ice skaters, such as Plushenko. I recognized some moves as part of his routine from Carmen in 2002. She really does it justice.
Wow, she is amazing! I tried half a Salchow on my rollerblades yesterday and it was so hard. She makes her jumps look like nothing at all. One complaint: I wish she would offer more in the way of facial expressions. She always looks so serious.

y despues de tantos años sin ponerme los patines con la nostalgia en el cuerpo de cuando yo patinaba de pequeña y no tan pequeña me topo con este video tan marivilloso.. tuve la oportunidad de patinar y aprender de ella en dos ocasiones tanto en Palamós en Barcelona como el Llíria en Valencia, ella Tanja Romano junto a Pierlucca Tocco. Creo que en esa época siendo tan joven disfrutando del patinaje como diversión y placer no me daba cuenta de lo realmente afortunada que era. Ahora que ya no patino desde hace mucho años me doy cuenta de lo poco visto que es el patinaje artisitico sobre ruedas. Nunca sale por la television y en rara ocasion lo ves por alguna noticia del canal de los pueblos pequeños. Maravilloso deporte del cual he gozado muchos años, que tanto añoro y del que aprendi y disfrute muchisimo, es una pasión y un sentimiento inexplicable al patinar.❤

Yeah the jump clumsy jump technique of artistic roller skating makes the sport more dangerous than figure skating. Especially the landing. It’s completely flat. Even if there’s a wheel acting as a toe pick, there’s really no toe pick to dig into the ice. Landing heavy and flat can cause many injuries.

Just because the skate have 4 wheels on the grounds doesn't mean the edge is flat, in fact we got 4 edges!! 4 edges that if you oscillate in the wrong one doing a jump or a spin you can't cheat, you will fall. I really don't care if you think ice skating is better etc cause that's your opinion and you have the right to have it, but don't call the technique clumsy just because you don't fucking know edge control in quads and think that everything is flat just because "oh it looks flat". Forcing an edge in quads will never be so apparent as a forcing and edge on an ice blade, but I can garantee, if Tanja didn't knew edge control she wouldn't be able to land the jumps.
Blows my mind that this isn’t in the Olympics. The next summer Olympics will have break dancing SMH . Makes me sick hearing that . I trained for hours in artistic roller skating with hopes that I’ll be in the Olympics. I would of got into ice skating but there were no ice rinks where I lived while growing up .. I came to love artistic roller skating. Sure miss those competitions days ❤️

The summer olympics already has it sweethearts and its gymnastics. Don't you think they have a very strong and vote. My thoughts on a reason why.

It’s a tango. The facial expressions are more serious. Expressions are done with hand, arm, and head movements. These are all there.

And harder. The momentum glide the ice gives allows for some ease. All you get is friction in rollerskating/blading
