You must only use struggle in every trainer battle
Meaning that you must drain all of your moves beforehand in wild battles
Finally, a challenge channel that feels like I'm watching someone from my same neck of the woods. I can't believe how much Pokemon content I've watched and this is the FIRST where someone actually uses Speed Up functions. Yes. True content, no wasting time.
dope video. really really interesting to see someone elses perspective on this type of run. much love xx
This person really just faced Red 20 levels below him and kicked his ass easier than they did Lance.
Boy, you made jumpluff, memento, destiny bond and spikes userfull in a casual playtrough
Game: “You can’t defeat me”
Shyguymask: “I know but he can”
*Curse*
There's also roar which you get as a TM pretty early on. You can use that to phase through and keep applying spikes damage. If you were playing soulsilver instead you could have used Persian which has a high base speed and can also learn taunt and hypnosis
Bear in mind, Hypnosis is an egg move for Persian.
Wait... enemies can hit themselves when they're confused? Never happened to me
Are you serious? You've never had that happen? It's literally an integral part of confusion
@@ryeonspeed i figure he just means hes never won the 50-50.chance of hitting themselves
@@linzig32 that's highly unlikely
@@ryeonspeed indeed i figure he meant it as a joke based on how bad most peoples luck is with it.personally confusion usually wears off for me before the enemy hits themselves
Sweeping a Competetive player with status moves = Maximum Salt.
He just stalled every Pokémon in this game WoW 10/10
Corrupt X's Status: Dead
After watching this video.
Corrupt X rip
Hi?
This is the only playthrough of this game where chikorita is the best choice
More advanced version of how to Toxic stall
(That’s how I beat Ultra Necrozma btw)
Good stuff. People really need to fight smarter against the Ultra Necrozma boss, not fight harder.
I always love when metronome brings out a super powerful move like Hyper Beam and Dragon Ascent. It's always funny.
ahh i love see these guys doing pokemon a very difficult game where you need a lot of strategy. good luck in your next videos!!!
Let's thank the Metapod for it's existence here, it's what make this run not impossible.
ALL HAIL METAPOD
My bro: a real pokemon master doesn’t exi-
Me: shows him this video
HAUNTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!
a minute of silence for our sacrificing hero that died at the end of the challenge....
This is the first ever documented good use of chikorita
I do not know a single thing about pokemon and this was still entertaining.
16:30 *Soccer Mom Karen wants to see your manager!*
This Karen actually is good
Claire, Will, Koga and Lance are definitely having a mid life crisis and are coping with it by dressing up.
"My intricate style will confound and destroy you! Confusion, sleep, poison... Prepare to be the victim of my sinister techniques" - Koga, before he got humbled by a 12 years old kid at his own tricks.
Thanks for another amazing video! It was fun watching the premiere!
It's not really a "Status moves only" challenge, it's more of a " No direct damage moves" challenge.
Haunter? Oh you mean that kamikaze pokémon!
This run would be easier in SoulSilver, since you can get Vulpix in this game. It even learns Will-o-Wisp by leveling up. And, without trades, except Ninetales, it's the ONLY Pokémon to learn this move before entering the Hall of Fame. This makes it the great wall against Steel-types.
You can also catch Skarmory in Soul Silver, arguably your only viable option for a Steel-type wall before the postgame if you teach it Roost.
@@Shyguymask Skarmory is available once you get to Route 45, but Vulpix is available earlier.
Thanks for the tutorial on how to make a stall team
"but try this challenge *without using trainer items yourself* "
YOU MANIAC YOU'LL GET US ALL KILLED
Pokemon With Magic Guard Ability: *Im About To End This Mans Whole Career*
I don't like undertale
The amount of patience in this idea alone scares me and surprises in a level that cant be explained
Absolute madlad over here
This run is big brain. Forcing Red into a position to heal so you could use Curse, Destiny Bonding the Lapras with the MVP Haunter, and the final battle with Lance was just so much fun to watch
Why not just use a team with Mean Look and Perish Song? I even cheesed countless Battle Spot PVP fights with that strategy.
I remember that in my early days playing pokémon I pretty much ONLY used status moves...
and to my shame I did not do it strategically, I just was insistent on Hypnotizing, Sleeppowdering, Leech Seeding and Nightmaring my opponents because I thought it would make it look more stylish and lost a million times because of low accuracy...
I thought of Wobbuffet being a good Pokemon to use for a challenge like this, but then I remembered that Counter and Mirror Coat aren't considered status moves.
Still a great wall.
Just wanted to say that your yt name is perfect for Allister.
Problem: Some Pokemon are powerful and can survive these status moves
Solution: *Use Curse*
Haunter was the MVP here
15:25
Did no one else notice it says "As for myself, the majority of my team can't *the* poisoned"?
This video was a lot better than I thought. You are getting a sub from me.
This was really cool, also I agree that it's a shame that you can always get through the main game very easily by spamming high damaging moves
In further generations this is easier...
Substitute
Toxic or something
Recover
Yea...
All of these moves have been in the game since generation 1 of Pokemon. I have yet to finish the video, but all of those moves are also usually TM learners, which are hard to come by.
@@Leader_Agam In HG/SS Sub comes from the game corner.
Toxic comes from Jasmine's Gym in Kanto.
Recover's a move he made use of often with his Starmie.
This was unique to watch, people do solo runs, randomizers, nuzlockes, etc but to go through the entire game without attacking is insane. Also do you do requests for ideas for challenges because I have one idea to see if its possible?
Consider this game golden someone will heart this *pun*
Mario Nope, it hasn’t happened yet, maybe it will soon though!
If this was a modern day sporting event, you would be boo'd out of the gym and put on a black list from battling for bad sportsmanship
Magic bounce: I'm about to end this man's whole career
Same with Substitute and Taunt.
Magic Bounce didn't exist here.
amazing! I love the disrespect there of walling pikachu with the level 48
I remember walling his Pikachu with a level 60-something Nidoking. His level 88 Light Ball Pikachu might hit like a truck but it's completely hopeless against many Ground types.
