It’s quite big for a British house living in a suburbs area. Generally country houses and more rural houses are a bit bigger, but not as high.

Thank you! This house was actually bigger than average, I think. I know our bedroom was two rooms knocked into one, and much bigger than most UK bedrooms. We were lucky.

Most people in the UK live in tiny shoebox homes.

From what I seen online and on TV most people in the UK live in duplexes. I am glad that the US is big enough for most of us to have single family homes. I am so glad that I have never had to live in a duplex or apartment. Their house also seem to be a lot smaller. Do most people in the UK have to rent their townhomes from a council or are council homes for low income people? I have been watching a show called, "The Nightmare Neighbor Next Door" and all most all these people live in council homes.

Not average at all. This is a mansion compared to most uk houses.

Wow I love this house 🏡. I wouldn't mind living in a house like this ( except for all the stairs) 😄😄😄. But I love the size of the rooms nice and huge. Is it hard to heat up a house this size ?
The stairs were definitely a killer! We did love that house, but yes, it was difficult to heat it due to the high ceilings, staircase, and the cellar.

A Thousand Words oh right it's a lovely home! not fond of the old kitchen on the top floor but I guess it's memories x wow it must be a nice quiet town I'm from Sheffield and there's many nice old houses up here
If you’re looking for a larger house generally try more rural or country areas. There are some good places round where I live in the south east, and not too far from the coast and London itself.
I wish I could head home to London....
My grandma owns a millionaires house in the UK, but you would be very surprised what it looks like compared to houses in the US, Europe and Australia. Its not even worth that much amount.

Hey what is the difference between a normal house(detached) and a terrace house.
najajaja A terrace house is just smaller, it's been attached to a row of houses too. It still can be luxurious and beautiful though (depends on how u manage it)
A terraced house is attached in a row of houses all squished together with no space between them. If you Google "terraced house England" you will see what I mean.
I'd like to have seen more original features, the fire places, sash windows, floors ceilings high skirting boards and mouldings??
Sounds expensive. All that stuff cost money.

This house is around 3000 square feet or more, Most houses in the uk are not like this unless you have a few million to spend, most people or average income in the uk live in much smaller homes of around 800 -1000 square feet at most, infact we have the tinyiest homes in Europe
True, but I promise this house was not "a few million", it was 245k and we bought it together with my parents in law.
