It was amazing what NWA did with these planes by doing a total interior refurbishment of all the dc9 fleet in the late 1990s to early 2000's i think. You could not really tell the plane was as old as it was unless you looked at the flight deck. I wonder if that is what carried delta to refurbish the a319/a320 fleet and most of the domestic configured 757-200 fleet. There was also a rumor i heard back when northwest was still an airline that they were gonna be taking 717's (most likely from airtran but correct me if i am wrong). One thing i kinda wish you did is get boarding footage and teminal footage when you do trips or if you have older videos of like msp during the northwest days that would be cool.
Spectacular video, and marvellous onboard footag , And hope you had a magnificent flight, and certainly for all the work you do, hope you have fantastic days ahead for doing what you do, and hope to see more videos anytime, as always keep up with all the great work! It just betters! 🔥🚂👍
Thank you!! & it is very sad.. I’ll never forget taking off in these things. When the throttles would open all the way, you were thrown back into your seat every single time. I miss that feeling! Along with the strong scent of jet fuel & coffee from the cabin of the -9’s. There was nothing else like it!

They don't make em like this anymore! This was REAL flying. I miss those LONG takeoff rolls. Great vid, Jonah 💯
I couldn’t agree more & thank you!
I was a Southern/Republic/Northwest DC-9 pilot and I was retired and eventually scrapped too. :D

Now that is a real plane!
Oh my gosh, that’s epic!
I remember the old days when these were with Northwest and I used to fly on them mostly on flights between Minneapolis & Grand Forks.
Great video Brother, But, this one makes me sad at the end.

Are those planes still in service or no?
Sadly, they were retired in 2014 - 10 years ago.
@@sethdotson6915 bummer
There is or was a DC-9-50 on display at the Delta Museum in Atlanta.
@markvolpe2305 This tail number is not the same aircraft that is at the Delta flight museum display. It is however the same model type, a DC9-51.
Yes there is, she is still there. That DC-9-51 in ATL is [N675MC] 🤙
