    This is a great idea, I spent 2 days between amazon and eBay trying to find something that was under $35.00 - no luck. I'm doing my first quilt - so I go to TH-cam for information. This is the best - Thank you

    Genius and very doable. The big frames or lap frames are too rare or expensive to bother with when im only starting out.

    I think your idea is a great one. I have a large hoop and it’s very difficult to use on its own. The lamp shade is manageable.

    I recently bought a hand quilted vintage quilt top and plan on hand quilting it. This will definately work for me.

    Hello. I never comment but just had to thank you! First, I think your hair is just lovely as it is. About to create my first quilt and it's getting expensive. You are a genius for figuring this out and bless you for taking the time to post this!! You just saved me a bundle! God bless!

    Fabulous idea.. Is embroidery hoop connected to the lamp frame to stabilize or just sitting on it?

    • @sj4177
      @sj4177  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's just sitting on top but since the hoop is a little bit smaller, it sits nicely and stays put
      And also My husband made a wooden base that I attached to the bottom🙂

    How do you keep all the pieces together and not have them shift when you are taking the quilt in and out of the lap stand to work on different areas?

  • @tracyd1127
    @tracyd1127 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello. I love your video! Does the quilt hoop need to be the same size as the lamp shade frame? Thanks

    • @sj4177

    4 why not glue the bottom frame to shade frame

  • @theclosetquilterelliemiria198
    @theclosetquilterelliemiria198 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    what size is the hoop you bought? and what size is the lamp shade?

    • @sj4177
      @sj4177  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello!
      It is 14 inch hoop.
      The lamp shade bottom (which will be the top) is almost 14 inch.
      I think any size similar would work!
      The lamp shade is 9 inches tall
      My husband made me a wooden octagonal base that I glued the shade onto
      It's also around 14 inches
      It keeps it anchored under my legs
      Hope this helps😊

    I think you should make more videos and be sure the "not for kids" is checked because if it is not we will not be able to comment
