I leave next week lol so uh yeah I’m concerned for the running part I got everything else down though. Anyone who’s reading this, start running a mile every other day and increase it by +25 meters until you reach a mile and a half. Then once you do that, run a mile and a half every other day, and like maybe a week or two before you leave, start running it everyday. Please please please consider this advice bc it helps for runners who (like me) are kinda bad at running honestly. Lol. But yeah wish me luck or pray * UPDATE * -> I’m in the fleet now (on the ship). Went through bootcamp already (JUL212021) and I went through A School. You’re going to learn a lot about yourself and what you can truly do, keep going and don’t stop. I now can run 10miles and 3 as well without stopping before bootcamp I could barely run 3 mins straight, keep going guys. Praying for all who are reading this. 💛
I did night of arrival and I handed out go fasters to the recruits😂 I wasn’t like that at all😂 night of arrival is fun when you get to work it, I did it for about a month before I left RTC.

Firefighting, shoring the ship (flooding), and the gun range is the most fun. You will make long term friendships. I am a Facebook friend with my RPOC! Good luck to all! Oh, if you play an instrument or can sing, or want to carry state flags, VOLUNTEER! You will go to special divisions that perform for the graduations. That is the ONLY thing you want to volunteer for! LOL
Underwear is called skivvies. Best advice is not to draw attention to yourself. Just do what you are told. I went to boot camp in 1978 and was assigned to a staff company, which was a lot easier than being in a regular company. Don’t take what the rdc’s tell you personally. I remember being in the 3rd or 4th week and our rdc was yelling at us about not getting any flags and blah blah blah. The next day we received at least 3 flags. They do that to motivate you. @@michaelajefferson2874 Hey I’m all about supporting. We’re all here for the same mission. That’s totally a normal fear and you can certainly build on those little by little. Start with a modified push up where you can do the form correctly and as you start to build strength try incorporating some regular push ups. Focus on getting your form right and then building the strength, that will help you be able to do more in the long run and keep you safe too! You’ve got plenty of time to work on this, just give it a try at least once everyday. Set a reasonable goal and you’ll start to see improvement over time (not over night) You will get it done! 🙌🏽
My main issue is I am terrified of the ocean. Kind of Azhar how I am more inclined to join the Marines and the navy, but because of my age of 31, the Marines won't except me. They told me to try navy, but I just can't imagine being on a ship all the time.

IIRC at RTC San Diego in '81 we didn't get any phone calls; I think we wrote a mandatory postcard; no Sailors' Creed; cadences? - Not really the Navy at that time. Shooting - about 1 hour of familiarization, 1 hour of firing. Hands on model ship USS Neversail - never did it. Mind games, yes, but lots of 'hurry up and wait.' Kept thinking, so when does training start? Still, in a weird way, it was part of growing up.

Aww! Yeah you’ll learn at boot camp! & unfortunately they don’t specifically serve healthy things but they have like a salad bar, and yogurts and stuff that you can put on your plate! but they’re main entrees aren’t ALWAYS healthy.. only sometimes. the only drink they let you drink is water, so that’s a good thing lol.. you’re not allowed to eat snacks either.. so I think you’ll be just fine!
Breakfast is by far the best meal, they got pancakes and bacon and oatmeal and cereal and stuff, some of the meals are really bad, it just depends cause some are really good.

Don't let anything deter u from joining. U hv everything it takes to pass that run. Its easy nd simple. Just keep training.
When I went to MEPS I had never even ran a lap before. I went from 22min to 15 minutes.. it’s possible! I ship out in June!
