    I am actually making a Mariners Compass quilt now and had NO idea how to best show off the Compass. This was just what I needed! Thank you!!!!!

    Cardinal points = N, S, E, W. The others are ordinal points. Love this quilt!

    Thanks! I appreciate your tutorials so much. I’m new so a lot of other tutorials kind of start “midstream” but you explain everything from the beginning :) 👊🏻

    Thanks for the terrific discussion of quilting designs and the way they effect the dimensionality of the final project.

    great job on quilt and quilting. Its funny I did the same quilt last year and being a novice free motion quilter I struggled with quilting it but guess I did it right mostly like you did highlighting the star. Wish I would have done the corner like yours great idea, well maybe for the next on.

    I made and used a paper template for my spinning stars quilt to fill the corners like that too.

    Great video explaining your thought process, however, I'm not the brightest bulb, so could you do a few more of these on upcoming piecing projects to reinforce what I've learned today? ❤🌅🌵

    Could you do a video on how to do, or tips on, a twisted bargello design. I understand the basic bargello and some of the twisting but the complicated ones confuse me. Thank you for your time. I love your videos. BTW as an Army vet I have to say that I love the sewmando vest.

    @Man Sewing, I love all the stitch styles here except the first one you demonstrated on the orange and yellow shorter points (NE, SE, NW, SW). What would be a nice alternative stitch for that area?

    Hey Rob, you do a great job. How do you bury your thread tails?

    • @ManSewingVids
      @ManSewingVids  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not really bury the threads. I make a few stitches in place then pull on the top thread, that should bring the bobbin thread and the knot to the top of the project. I cut close to knot and leave it be. The traditionalist believe the knot will fall into the batting over time.

    Rob what did you use for quilting in the background of The compasses in the corners? Great video.

    What machine did you use in the video? Were you using a stitch regulator?

  • @rebeccajanes5203

    I love all of your videos but I do have a question. You said something about pulling the knot to the top so you could cut the bottom thread at the same time as you cut the top thread. Does that not take away your sewing knot? Will the stitching come loose?

    • @ManSewingVids
      @ManSewingVids  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not really bury the threads. I make a few stitches in place then pull on the top thread, that should bring the bobbin thread and the knot to the top of the project. I cut close to knot and leave it be. The tradionalist believe the knot will fall into the batting over time. I make wall quilts so i just keep on believing.

    I know you are changing threads between colors but what is you have lots of different colors in your quilt but just want to use one color how do you figure out what thread to use? I am new to your channel and making my first quilt that looks like a jigsaw puzzle design.

      They make some very pretty variegated threads. Look for them at your quilt store or fabric store.

    I have a quilt that is applique and really not sure how to qiilt so as not to cover all the applique and suggesting for that? Sure could use some ideas.

    • @ManSewingVids
      @ManSewingVids  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Applique shapes only need quilted on the edges, but then can also have more detail quilting once appliques are secured if desired.
