Cache Memory 2: Direct Mapping

  • This video explains a simple approach to managing a cache, namely a direct mapping. Every block in memory has exactly one cache line to which it can be copied. An extended example is provided, which is heavily based on content from the book Computer Organization and Architecture by William Stallings.

    I've seen a lot of cache videos, but none of them explained how the tags worked. This is the first video that very clearly explains direct mapping. Thanks!

    really nice video but too many adds. breaks the flow due to add. It will be better if there are adds in the beginning and end
