I did this hike back in 2018 and it was one of the best ocean views I ever seen! You captured it brilliantly! What a spectacular rain forest Maui has! Absolutely stunning! Apart from the hike, I also liked the drive to West Maui! Paradise!

That was our mentality too... this climb is known for getting rained out pretty often, so we were prepared for the clouds and actually found it pretty fun to run in them! 🤗

Hello! Thanks for sharing the video. I would STRONGLY recommend editing the beginning of this video to exclude the early riser overflow parking lot access. This is misinformation as there is a gate at the overflow lot now and hikers are unable to access earlier that 7am. You either hopped the fence or the gates at the overflow lot we’re not here.
Thanks for the info, Christian. When we went there was definitely nothing preventing our access to the overflow lot. Good to know that there's a gate there now.
Well we do love a brisk hike, Michael, but there's something about running on gorgeous ridges that is highly addictive. It's hard to explain, but you'll understand if you try it -- once you run the right ridge it kinda gets into your soul!
Hey Silvia. We switch up our shoes based on the type of trail. So, for long, well groomed trails good for running, we'll wear our trail runners (Adam likes the Salomon Wildcross, Elise goes with On Cloudventures). For trails with tough terrain or cross country hiking, we both go with our Salomon X Ultra hiking boots. And for trails with extensive class 3+ scrambling, our approach shoes are best because of the great grip, and for that we use our La Sportiva TX2. 😊
My husband and I did this last year and loved it!!! Also hiked to the clouds and couldn’t see anything but it was an awesome hike!
