    Wow. This described my journey from an abused child, bullied adult nurse, to finding my choices of self love and power to say, Enough! I will not continue this victim archetype; I made healthy choices for me and am learning so much. I have compassion for other women who are and have been going through this also. Thank you ❤️ I love to learn and look forward to more education.

      @@meco4068 I second that. I worked as a Nursing Assistant for years and most hospitals and nursing homes have very toxic culture from the bottom employees to the top management. I had a nurse bully me and others, scream and shout, follow us around and always finding something wrong. One night she came behind me as I was clocking out and began yelling at me. I began crying and turned around and faced her and for the first time had the courage to face her. I told her Leave me alone, I have given 110% and if that’s not enough for you do it yourself. Surprise surprise she looked stunned. She said I am your elder. I told her then treat me like a person. She never bothered me again. And
      I had gone to my immediate supervisor and she didn’t do anything to help me. It seems they perpetuated that type of behavior and culture. Toxic people are everywhere in retail, in nursing homes and hospitals, in every work environment. The key is to know what you are able to tolerate and what you will not tolerate. Abuser is never going to be abusing you if you are strong and know your worth and don’t take their crap.

      Thank you for sharing. I left nursing for 15 years because I felt it was abusive. I worked at Trader Joe's and absolutely loved it- no abuse at all! I went back to the hospital 6 months ago as a nurse, and it's traumatized me. Instead of walking out in the first week, I've frozen, thinking I don't have any other options, and I'm scared cause I'm single and feel alone. This pattern feels eerily familiar to how I dealt with life as a child. I'm in recovery, able I know I can't get out, but I'm shocked at myself for continuing to stay despite how abusive it is.

      Yes! instead of asking “why is this happening to *me*?” I’ve learned from the victim archetype to say, “this is happening” and respond from there. I got out of a three year relationship with a psychopath. I eventually said to myself, “I’m not on this earth to be a victim. That isn’t my identity or my path”. It was extremely difficult to break away from the cycle, but I used my grit and curiosity to move forward into my own life…to find something new and better. Growing up, I wasn’t treated well by either of my divorced parents’ households; it was mostly a case of them being too busy to raise me or to connect with me. It was all about them, so my needs were not met except on a rather surface level. I also experienced a lot of trauma throughout my life. It sounds cliché, but learning to love yourself and set constructive boundaries for yourself is important for survival.
    I’m really enjoying this series! Fascinating, our human social development through these stories/archetypes.

Also to understand our journey on the spectrum of the polarity of victim / perpetrator and that we can remember times we straddled both and in that knowing we can hold space for the suffering we incur of living in either polarity and this allows empathy and service for the greater good. No longer residing in separateness but creating more unity in the world🫶🏼 Thank you!

    As a therapist, I am wondering how we might address the Victim in relation to the very real issues of mass income inequality and poverty? So many are unable to access resources such as healthcare, quality food, and housing. Therefore, this drastically limits many healthy choices people might want to make for themselves if they had the means to do it.

      Or health problems. I have lost so much of my quality of life to a misdiagnosis from doctors. It took a good 15 years of my life and I am still suffering to this day from chronic complex pain as a result of the misdiagnosis. Outside of pushing myself to work I spend the majority of my life in bed. It is really hard to feel empowered in this situation. When you are healthy and well (I had five days of it in 15 years) you feel so empowered. I am writing this from bed exhausted and off work because I can’t function.

      I take it your not in the US. Obamacare created healthcare for all and food stamps and food banks are in the US. I know some republican states residents did not get the health care for all of Obamacare. So people do have to pay for shelter or wait a long time for section 8 in the US.

    • @heathercerridwen7194
      @heathercerridwen7194 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lesliewinchester8225 I do live in the US and I am blessed to pay and qualify for Obamacare for myself. As a professional and person, I was so happy when it was passed. I could finally help more of my patients get needed medication and services that they could to pay for. It finally made healthcare more affordable for people here.
      Prior to Obamacare, most people didn't qualify for Medicaid (not Obamacare which people pay for) unless you had children. If not, there wasn't insurance that working people could afford individually unless it was provided by your employer. And although we have Obamacare there is a financial cutoff where get dropped and you have to pay full price for your Healthcare. For an individual from my state that is about $51,000. After that you pay full price about $460 a month plus co-pays and high deductibles. So we have many people who start to do a little better and then lose their healthcare. Or if you lose your job, you lose your healthcare. We live in the richest country ever in the history of the world and we are the only ones not to guaranty some type of universal healthcare to our people. Approximately 48,000 people die each year from being uninsured or underinsured. Many US citizens have to ration insulin which often leads to death. We have many people who can't afford our prescriptions due to price gouging from large Pharma. We pay the highest price for medication anywhere because companies aren't regulated.
      As for food stamps (SNAP), the pandemic benefits will be over on 5/11/23 because the pandemic is deemed over. People will lose at least approximately $100 dollars in that support. We had the child tax credit during the pandemic, which drastically reduced childhood hunger and that was taken away from us. So currently 1 in 8 of our children are going hungry in the USA. We can do better for our People.
      Medical Debt is the number one cause of bankruptcy in the US. Our People are really struggling with the lack of social support system. The system is rigged in favor of the elites and corporations. I really wish it wasn't this way. Unfortunately, this is the state of our nation.

      I lived homeless out of my car for over a year in a cycle of poverty and survival with no health care, car ins, anything. It took me suffering so deeply from that that I made a choice to leave that reality and do whatever it took to create the life I actually desired. It was a simple but powerful “I’m done living like this” and every though and action became about being secure within myself

    Hi. I discovered your channel in my recommendations, and I am enjoying your content a lot. I appreciate the different perspectives you bring to mind. So thank you for your videos! I identify with the archetype of the victim in a profound way as I have always wished for being someone else than myself from primary school years on. I was bullied for 10 years, and have a mother that suffers from severe depression and behaves like a covert narcissist. I have lived through life comparing myself constantly and feeling less as, because I don't feel like I have anything special to offer. I stopped to identify my value through my skills, but I shifted to something else, I don't seem to live up with to, which is what I am doing with my life. That's where I truly feel victimized, not even the shitty childhood anymore, but just feeling stuck in the present. I decided to move to Berlin a few years ago to go about another vocational training and change my life path as I felt dissatisfied with my previous career. It wasn't just about the training, it was about what the city had to offer. All those different activities, options and different meetups that would allow my socially awkward and insecure self to take little steps towards socializing with different people and developing some social skills. I have battled my social anxiety the years before then, and I feel empowered in the sense of having been able to develop into a more confident version of myself on my own. But when the pandemic hit, which wasn't too long after my relocation to Berlin, I felt robbed of this opportunity as I didn't have the financial stability to continue staying there without a part-time job which was impossible to find and arrange with the times of my apprenticeship caused by the circumstances.
    I tried to move to Lisbon after the pandemic calmed down as I am tired of the cold weather of Germany and still had the wish to go back to an environment of possibilities, but the company that was offering a relocation to Lisbon fooled me and I am somewhere further away from Lisbon that makes it difficult to make friends and form connections as nothing is going on in the small town I am at. And that's a constant condition. I am mostly in small town environments without any opportunities for growth in the areas of life I would like to grow as a person. Even when I make choices that feel like I am getting closer to what I know is good for me, something happens. That's why I feel like life is against me, and it's hard to just shake it off and accept that this version of my life that I detest is all I've got and that I must embrace nothing. Because it means absolutely nothing to me, except for my health. I can't feel proud of living this life, nor can I feel joy of small town boredom. I am surely ungrateful, but I don't know how to feel differently about this, if I feel so powerless in creating a life I wish I would be able to experience in this brief time I've got to experience what life has to offer. Often, I turn into thoughts of huge rage and have the desire to end my life, because I don't have it in me in accepting what I am and what my life is about. It's nothing and there is nothing I can do to shape it into the version I wish my life to be. Not even a glimpse. It's seems impossible and I don't know how to feel satisfied with living a life that will never take me to those places and are just random occurrences life throws my way.
    I have been there. In that place of rage, where I just want to hurt somebody, make someone feel as miserable as I feel. But I don't have it in my yet. I don't choose to be nice and empower others through my words anymore either, but my life won't get better in destroying someone else's either, and I know that. I don't wish for more pain in this world. This world has enough of that. But I fucking hate my life and myself and I feel like there is no future anymore. I used to have so much hope and fought to become better and heal and stuff, but the struggle never stops and my dreams seem further away than ever. How do you find back to hope, when you lost your strength to fight?

    Wow!! Your video showed in my feeder. I applaud you to describe this victim arque type concise and precise. We all, in one way or another have been victimized by many types of circumstances who made us feel as victims, but as you said, is the attitude we have toward those circumstances the one that help us either use those circumstances to transform and empower ourselves or stay down where the circumstances put us and never evolve…this is a lesson I’m trying to teach my 10 year old son: BS will happen in our lives all the time, but is our attitude that makes the difference. Don’t be Pikachu ( that never wanted to evolve) , be like charmander that in each battle it evolved until it converted in mega charizard 😂. I will watch your other videos❤

    I’d like to hear more about the bully aspect of the victim. I’ve been bullied before by people who pretend to be weak to others. It seems they target people who stand in their power, I think it’s very interesting.

    Learned about the archetypes through Caroline’s book : Archetype’s: Which one are you ? Very good book and this is so awesome that she is offering a taste of what she can share on archetypes and how it relates to all of us . Caroline has been one of master teachers for many years and I have gained so much insight to managing life events with compassion and understanding, As well as a Birds Eye view into the spirit world. Thank you Caroline for being the amazing person that you are ❤

    I feel seen and understood. I felt offended when I saw the title but I am glad that i got pass the title to dig in and not be a victim. In my journey I have been a bully in certain ways, I am also a defender of anyone from a bully because I was bullied in and outside of the home. I am so glad that I gave this video a chance for what it gave me.

    Thank you, from the deepest of my heart for these powerful teachings ! I can't wait to hear about the addict archetype, I'm trying desperately to quit smoking and I've been searching for a long time where it was coming from. I've explored the traumas, my inner children, shadow work, and got rid of many addictions, but this one seems pretty difficult... is it a matter of a weak willpower ? Thank you again and god bless you !

    We see the victim archetype a lot in toxic celebrity culture and instagram influencers, where they put out this big dramatic weepy video of how they have been victimized, and they have all these followers and it ends up glorifying being a victim and staying stuck there. Why change if we get all sorts of attention from people, everyone feels bad for us when we are the victim.

    • @pattimartin1069
      @pattimartin1069 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think that is partbof the process. Either they are just "acting" as victims or they are attention whores which is another addiction. If people IGNORED this wouldn't be an issue. I no longer respond to bad behavior its too much energy and only furthers my ire.
