I have 2 now, and I'm not turning back. The ease of reusing yeast has been worth the price. I save a Quart of wort from my brew day, and when I dump my trub, I fill the ball back up with that extra wort after I've cleaned and sanitized the ball. I started with distilled water, but it somewhat watered down my beer. With the wort, it gives the yeast a bit more fresh food and nutrients to chew on later in the ferment. BIG difference in my opinion. It doesn't fit in my fridge, but I'm now rebuilding my closet as a Son Of a Fermentation Chamber. It's going to be great to have the temperature control.
Yea man I really cant wait to see how easy it is to save yeast with this bad boy! I had to dump it in this video to show the ease of cleaning but from here on out its all about saving the yeast. Great Idea about saving a quart of wort.
I'm nearly on generation 3 of an Irish Yeast WLP004 and Gen3 of California Ale Yeast WLP001. I banked them in mason jars that were boiled and sanitized. I've seen how members of my brew club swirl and swish with distilled water, pour, let settle, and decant to reuse, or just rack a new beer on top of the old yeast cake. For me, the real win is going right into the keg. After purging with CO2, the chance for oxidized beer is greatly reduced, and those conicals empty in no time!
That's awesome! I've harvested yeast a few times from my Mini brew conical but it only had a 1/2 valve on the bottom and was quite a pain to do because the valve always got clogged. Great tips man!
The Fast Ferment revolutionized my brewing. It reduced the actual work involved in producing a 7.5 gallon batch by 80%, and sped up fermentation by about 45%. This is the greatest thing since the crown cap in my opinion!
I agree 100% with you. I love the fast ferment its super easy to clean and the fermentation definitely speeds up the process and the batches seem to clear up alot faster.
Dont RESISIT!!!!! Here Ill even give you the link !!!! amzn.to/2BarNob lol I love this fermenter it seriously make yeast collection a breeze and in return makes brewing cheaper. Cheers
HEAR HEAR: I more than totally agree, the stand should be with unit, and the wall mount as accessory , I believe this unit is quite strong, but I don't know about holding 56lbs of wort and the weight of unit on those little hanger studs, seems that it would be a disaster just waiting to happen, I can't find myself using the wall mount, VERY GOOD REVIEW
I was really skeptical of it holding on the wall myself but I have seen quite a few guys run multiple on the same wall. I think as along as it mounted into wood or concrete you should be fine. Thanks for stopping by! Ill be doing a review on the FastWasher when it's released.
Not worried about wall, I have a feeling those hanger nuts mounted into the plastic will get loose very quickly and maybe even start leaking after 30 - 50 load ups.
If I remember right the plastic it molded around the hanger nuts on the inside so it shouldn't leak. But I could see it possibly loosening after 30-50 brews.

I just got a knock at the door - I think it's the landlord.
I just got my fast fermenter. Has anyone else experienced this? The ball valve will not turn when the fermenter is full. The handle just pops off when I try to open the valve . It’s very frustrating. Any suggestions?
That's odd. I have had it where the valve will start to unthread if i don't hold the fermenter. Never had it where the handle pops off. I would contact them and see if they can send a new valve assembly
8Bit Chick'n I got it working , i loosened the valve with the key provided in the handle the ball valve was way to tight from the factory. It’s all good now . Cheers 🥃
+Les Gill Yea they are great I'm already planning on getting a couple more collection balls. I have plenty of homebrewing, winemaking and Mead making videos so make sure to subscribe. Cheers!
I see your hat is a Fatheads hat, Are you from Pittsburgh? I used to work there when I was younger before they bought the second building to the right. It was an awesome place to hang out .
Great video! We have been thinking of new fermenters and this has been one we have looked at. I especially love the thermometer to control and know your fermenting temp. May have to buy this! :-)
Not worth it. I can’t get it to seal and I did the whole screw it on an off 10 times. You got yours for free, of course you are happy with it! If they fixed the lid, and threading it’s a good design. But when you pay for it, it should come ready to use
I'm confused. The date of this video is 2017, but your wearing a shirt for a band from the 1980's. BTW, I'm in the midst of reviewing this thing right now. Video should be out in a week.
You forgot to mention! The stand is very shaky the lid is not always air tight and yes they do leak! You are just to bias! It should be better made with better quality materials and should be barred from saying made in USA! Simply not worth the money for cheap ass plastic!
Far from biased, I paid for this product they may have sent me one discounted but I definitely paid for it. My stand is completely fine I've never had an issue with it being wobbly. I would double-check the seal on your lid if it's not sealing or airtight and I would dare you to find me a better quality plastic fermenter at that price. I have had issues with leaking so I can't complain there but I did put Teflon tape around the threads and it hasn't leaked since. Cheers
I cant wait to put an IPA in it and really test it out! So far so good I mean its hard to beat the price for that product. It sure as hell knocks my other conical out of the water. Thanks for watching
8Bit Chick'n The only thing that puts be off it the size with yeast collection and stand it would take up all my Fermentation fridge. Other than that I think it's great. Mind you I've never actually seen one in the flesh - I might change my mind then

Has anyone noticed, on the valve there is a direction of flow arrow, and of course it is going the opposite way of the installed way..
jbrunson1949 I never noticed ill have to take a look to confirm it. Thanks for watching

Yea I really dig it! I can't wait to get a few more beers into it and really test it out! I highly recommend it because you can't beat the price!
Great review! If I were making beer/wine, I would definitely consider buying this. Love to see you make some wine in it.
Its definitely in the plans! Cheers
