@InMyBusyLittleShop yes sir!! Seems that is something I rarely have. Most my hides so far, 8oz up to 16oz. Do have some 5/6 oz Alum Indian Tanned hides. Only come in Burgundy and Tan color.. but im little concerned about using it for tools?? Definitely won't for sheaths and scabbards.. makes awesome lace!! For all my lacing. Do you ever do any lacing?? Buck stitching?? Reason I'm asking, me being new to leathercraft, I came into this as a hobby, but it seem to grow, by word of mouth and people seeing and holding my projects. I leaned towards old traditional style crafting. You do such an awesome job in your projects, and I can tell you truly enjoy it.... I'm thinking you probably would make some great , laced projects!! Thanks for responding.

I have not yet explored lacing. I’m sure it will come up. I wasn’t too concerned about the leather for the tool roll as I do not store the tools in the roll. I only use to take them with me occasionally. I don’t think it would hurt the tools. I always use vegtan for sheaths and holsters. I just found out that the supplier I have been using for thin leather is not selling any longer.

That’s pretty nice for being a temporary purposes. Just finish that top edge and you are good to go. Nice piece of leather

I kind of like the organic shape to the top edge.

You could fold that edge over and in 3 spots put snaps in place to secure it in addition to the leather lace.

That leather is from C loys Leather in El Paso Tx. cloysleathers.com/. They have a great selection of thin leather.

What kind of sewing maching is that? needle? What kind of thread did you use? What tools did you use to cut the leather? And what was that stitching marker tape?

Thanks for watching my video. The sewing machine is a Cobra 26. The thread is 138 using a 22 diamond needle. The knife is a Stanley 299 utility knife. The only tape I used was a double sided Ted’s tape.
