Good luck to those applying this cycle! Stay tuned for a few more application related videos coming up, including information on interviews! As always, feel free to reach out with any questions!
Hi! this was very helpful! Thank you so much for sharing! I do have a couple of questions: 1. What would you put on the transcripts section if you dropped or retook a class on the transcripts section? 2. Do you only put the classes you earned credit or do you put all the attempted grades? 3. Do you suggest that I order an official transcript for myself and input all the grades exactly as it shows on the official transcript? Thank you so much!
For the supplemental applications, if we don't submit it to AASDAS, then where do we submit it too? Directly to the school's website? I'm confused on that part.
I would include as much detail as you think necessary. I usually included a statement of what the activity / experience included and how it impacted me!
are there the most meaningful activities, like on the medical school application? or do you give the same length of descriptions for all of the activities you put down (like they are all equal)
You can highlight up to 5 experiences! You still have the same number of characters allowed for these highlighted experiences, but they will appear on the front page of your application!
Thank you for making this video, it's very informative. I just have a few questions that would it be okay if I started the application this year, and then took the DAT next year (2022 or 2023)? Can I still edit mine after it's closed. Because this cycle opens from May 11, 2021 - Feb 2, 2022 so I'm afraid it'd be closed before I had all my grades and DAT score.
The ADEA application usually clears responses and closes their application in between cycles - this allows for schools to change any supplemental information they might include / ask for on the application. Most people will begin filling out their application during the soft opening, which gives you MORE than enough time to complete your application!
You can order your transcript through your university. Each university uses a different program to do this, so the time can vary. It usually takes anywhere from a few days to 1-2 weeks!
Hi thank you for doing this. Quick question, when putting in your transcript do you put all classes? Even if I dropped one or took a irrelevant class like dance? Or is it just the science classes?
Hi Martha! You put in your transcript exactly how it appears on your official transcript (including dropped, retaken, and irrelevant classes). Hope that helps clear things up!
Hey , am I able to submit a school one at a time or do I have to submit all at once ? Some schools have different deadlines so I want to submit early to some schools .
Unfortunately, I believe once you hit "submit," you are submitting your application to all fo the programs you have added to your ADEA AADSAS application
So I currently have senior standing but will be completing my bachelors in 5 years. I’m currently taking classes over the summer and I’ve already registered for classes in Fall so those are in my transcript but I still have classes to finish up in Winter which includes some prereqs but because I can’t register for them till Fall they won’t be on my transcript till then. Would that cause a delay in my application if I still select those classes I plan to take although they aren’t on my transcript?
I believe you can put those pre-requisite courses in as "planned" courses for the spring semester! That way, dental schools know you plan to take those courses before starting. During the academic update periods, you can update those "planned courses" to what you are actually taking!

Would you recommend putting hobbies, like drawing under experiences if you believe that they will help you become a dentist?

Do you recommend that we should be very detailed on our experience and activities section ???

Can you submit the academic history part before finishing others so it can be verified earlier?

@@doingdentalschool Much appreciate your help, DDS!
for the experiences description part do you recommend putting bullet points or a paragraph??
Personally, I wrote paragraphs just so I could explain all of my thoughts + the significance of each experience!
