Great video! I learned a lot. I’m having a on/off problem sometimes at start up. Here’s a quick video: th-cam.com/video/VGXL4PpWy3I/w-d-xo.html
I have an old external solenoid valve on a A2VA7116. Could it be failing and opening and closing rapidly causing my problem?
I replaced Primary Control today and gonna replace Transformer and Cad cell eye and harness tomorrow.
Thanks for your help. It’s hard to find this info.
My main question is what happens to the solenoid as it fails or gets weak over time?

The oil delay valve is nothing more than a solenoid coil that operates off of magnetism to open the valve to deliver oil to the nozzle. If the solenoid fails or gets weak, you will lose the flow of oil to the nozzle.

@@hvacprofessionaltraining ok, so there would be no fast “open/close/open/close” situation. Did you see the video? Do you have any ideas? Thank you for your reply.

@@jcstevegigs I did. I never heard anything like that before. At first, I thought it was a broken pump coupler. But then it stopped. Did you check all of the electrical connections at the primary control? It does sound like the relay in the primary control is clicking.
I would have it serviced by a trained oil burner technician in your area.

@@hvacprofessionaltraining I double checked all the wires and replaced the PC with an ICM 1503. Tenant said noise has stopped for 3 days now. Maybe that was it? I doubt it.
My old oil certified guy was my neighbor. He moved away but showed me a lot over 15 years. I love to learn too. Plus oil techs in my area are hard to find. Seasonal area and most switched to natural gas.
Anyway, thanks for your help. I’ll see what happens but not out of options.
This video has stumped many people!!
