Rezang La is a mountain pass on the south-eastern approach to Chushul Valley in Ladakh, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is 3,000 yards long and 2,000 yards wide, with an average height of 16,000 feet. La means a mountain pass in Tibetan language.
If Ladakh is a part of this country today, it is because of the Veer Ahirs who fought to the 'last man, last round' at Rezang La (Chushul) on November 18, 1962. This battle is listed in the 8 stories of collective bravery published by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Pangong Tso, Tibetan for "high grassland lake", also referred to as Pangong Lake, is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m. It is 134 km long and extends from India to China.
Ladakh is a region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kunlun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent.
Chushul is a village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, India.[1] It is located in the Leh tehsil, in the area known as "Chushul Valley".
