I feel the exact same way about my dad and grandfather. I lost my dad Jul 27, 2018 and lost my grandfather on Dec 27, 2019. I live 3 hours away from them, so I can kind of "pretend" that they're just at home. Even though they aren't, it's like I don't let my brain think that far. I think about them and distract myself really quickly. I guess it gets easier, but in a way I don't want it to get easier. My grief feels like a tribute to how much I love them and I don't want it to go away. Does that even make sense?
