I did a LOT of new things with this video, bit of a longer intro sequence, POV indicators, and a bit heavier on the editing. Let me know what you think, tried my best to make this video as engaging as possible
A small thing that might be better is that when you're showing the compositions (like at 1:58) you could try moving them upward so that we can see the background footage more clearly. I know the background stuff is just filler, but it could still be fun to watch.
@@Paralellex i kind alike this suggestion too
Love the videos! Hewever, could you sometimes include the view from above so that we could see where everybody is?
the POV indicators were SO helpful. the extra effort was definitely worth it for this viewer. also go to bed
All of this was awesome and so well done. I have no complaints. Love your Live streams!
Another day another mauga composition ... Wait what !!
Hop off Mauga
Ocie, even though I don’t play as much Overwatch anymore, i’ve still been keeping up with your videos as they are high quality and only improving with each iteration. You are easily making the best competitive OW content on youtube. Keep up the great work
me watching vids of high level R6 siege and Valorant even though I don't play either game
@@FallenQueenOfCrowswe enjoy it for the same reason people like watching nba and mlb or similar- high level play and analysis is like crack
I guess we had much more static metas previously but the gameplay in this showcase is fucking insane. Half the video has to be in slowmo for clarity, it just looks insane
Great video, i really like the changes you made
Hazard has singlehandedly gotten me back into ranked overwatch, and I'm actually having a lot of fun with the game now. Such a fun hero
of course you are having fun, this broken ass character gets to be server admin
Ocie video as soon as i wake up? YIPPIE, ive been enjoying Hazard a lot and i feel like he has a very high skill ceiling with his wall and jump, but his skill floor is also decent thanks to his survivability. Hazard feels very versatile, and i think thats his strongest point, more than the burst or the survivability
Ok im sorry i yapped too much, THANK YOU FOR THE ANALYSIS OCIE!!!
Hazard definitely has a lot of flexibility in terms of play style, a very interesting hero. I'm glad you like the video!
Nice to have an Ocie video to watch when i can't sleep
The POV indicators helped alot especially the colours.
Nothing like waking up and having my current favorite overwatch creater upload, cant wait to watch this! :3
Hazard is the sort of tank meta that I’m honestly fine with. He’s a fun tank to play and fight, the OW team nailed his kit.
I agree, I really like Hazard. He seems to be quite controversial though. I find many people either love or hate him, it's interesting
idk i feel like he's unpunishable, i have at least one game where enemy tank wished me cancer for playing hazard
btw guy played hog, the struggle is real
@@judgement7279 obv any hog player will swear at all tanks lol
Hazard is SO FUN to watch played professionally. You covered this extremely well. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for the support!
As someone new to overwatch that's mostly coming from fighting games, I appreciate the rivals music in the background LOL, good vid!
My brother is big into fighting games and Rivals so he recommended the OST!
Rivals of the aether?
This might be the funniest and funnest ow2 comps weve had for a while
stopped playing ow years ago, this is also my first video seeing of yours. but back when i used to play i loved watching pro play match breakdowns and you honestly made this very enjoyable and understandable. great video !
Thanks for watching! Glad this made it easy to get back into ^_^
A year end video?!?!? you're spoiling us coach
Hazard calls his own ult “Rain” so I’m with it
At 12:02, I think that might be the bug that keeps getting people eliminated instantly by Hazard's wall. I've had 2 games, one where it eliminated Hazard himself, and another where it kill my team's Sojourn. I think it might be the interaction with the first wall tick damage that pushes the player to the ground. I believe Kalios is lucky he is not near a ground or a hollow wall so he didn't die
It can apparently also happen due to friendly walls, as well, so maybe it’s not necessarily first tick damage but rather something with how the game forcibly repositions hero models. Kind of reminds me of the strange interactions hog hook could sometimes have early in Overwatch 1, teleporting players across the map.
it’s 4AM but that’s not a problem when the goat uploads 😼
Time zones are funny
Funny enough, that's my time zone, I'm tragically up at 4 AM :0
This video was great! It's clear that a lot more effort and editing went into producing it. I'd love to see also see a director's commentary of sorts diving deeper into why teams made certain plays. (Though I think for pacing reasons, it's good that you didn't dive deep in the weeds unless you were highlighting something really important)
20:13 I'm not even kidding, I said to myself unprompted "unfortunately" and it happened to sync up with you perfectly and I died laughing
It took 3 minutes in the practice range to figure out his kit is overtuned (not overloaded) and that he will dominate especially in coordinated lobbies.
He is more like "safe side of strong"
Happy to see you got your first analysis right, honestly for Juno you were definitely not the only one wrong, most of pros said the same stuff you said. I’m pretty happy that I saw Juno’s ult as her main strength day 1 and that I wanted Hazard in JQ like comps, I feel like I’m finally getting a grasp on characters fast
Hazard is a really flexible tank. If in the future we got 6v6 as the standard format I could see teams using Hazard interchangibly as both main and off tank just because of his ability to deny the enemy's attempts at taking space while simultaneously having the ability to peel for nearby supports.
Yeah thats how hes been fitted into 6v6 comps currently, often with another off tank where the offensive pressure does alot of heavy lifting during cooldowns
man i just said to myself, im bored, then opened yt and nearly leaped on to the street screaming OCIEEEE
These are so well done. Loving it. Please make more of these videos
20:39 okay I know this is THE play of the video, absolutely insane, but we have to congratulate Rul3r because what he did on this round was BEAUTIFUL. Probably one of the best performances of Overwatch I’ve ever seen. (You can tell I dont watch much of overwatch pro play, but… I watch every video of your channel!)
Yo man i really like ur videos and the way you can portray all this information into such an engaging and easy to understand format. Watching ur vids has been a huge help to me in improving my awareness and game sense. Thank u so much ❤😊
I loved the switching between POVs, it made it really easy to follow. I don’t follow professional overwatch like at all outside of your channel, so I don’t really know players’ names, so it can be hard to follow
I appreciate that youre always looking to improve the videos. It has paid off!!
Hmmm why is Hazard good? Let’s see. A ridiculous block that also damages enemies without aiming and has a pretty high uptime, a leap that does ridiculous damage on an absurdly low cd that also knocks back enemies, and an ult that is hard cc. Oh and all of this is on a hero that can basically just climb walls. The only part that seems fine is his primary fire
I like Kalio's usage of wall to teleport the opposing tank to control space. Very creative gameplay.
It’s my first time seeing your videos and they are honestly one of the best overwatch pro content ive seen. The explication are clean and the different pov are really nice. Definitely a suscribe can’t believe you just have 35k
I liked the new editing! feels more polished without losing your vibe yk
Off topic, but I feel like there is no way that hero bans are *not* a part of the huge competitive update next season
Overwatch doesn't need hero bans (except in tournaments), I'd be really worried for the game's health if it happens.
@@thoet7270overwatch absolutely needs hero bans, it’s ludicrous that you think otherwise and it’d be stupid easy to implement (each role on each team get to pick a hero in that role to ban, the two DPS vote for a DPS ban, the two supports vote for a single support to ban.) if it’s implemented the SMART way you’re looking at 6 banned characters per game but only 2 per role which is not only healthy for the game to eliminate unhealthy meta tanks but also lets the devs know who to focus their attention for nerfs
@@thoet7270every major hero game has bans (Marvel Rivals from Diamond up I believe, Rainbow Six Siege, League of Legends, Brawl Stars etc.) and it’s an absolute necessity to prevent toxic meta without forcing the dev team to implement emergency balance changes (which usually don’t work and create other issues). People vilify the counterswapping for a good reason and it will always be a thing due to the game format. Either it’s back to 6v6, or hero bans.
@@ThatBoiDinky6 heroes per game is insane
@@ThatBoiDinky 6 bans means around 14 percent of heroes would be banned from play every game . while i partially agree with your last sentence im worried that what happened to rainbow six siege would happen to overwatch . maybe if it was only 1 hero ban per team it could possibly work but any more is something i dont see being a great idea especially with only 42 heroes . many players would say they dont trust blizzard to implement hero bans correctly so that is also something to consider
althought i don't really like how strong hazard is, im enjoying the fact that we're no longer in a juno brig chokehold
I think for now, the Hazard meta is acceptable considering he has allowed for a bit of diversity and deviance from Juno Brig. I'm already advocating for nerfs though, as he's just too strong and that'll get old quick. I am a bit concerned though that Hazard will be nerfed but Juno's Orbital Ray will not, that could result in us going back to Mauga/Queen Juno Brig.
I find myself waiting for Ocie videos
Commenting for engagement!!!!!
This is a really good video!
I have a bunch of attention issues and I'm genuinely coming off with actual information because you're concise yet through!
Definitely watching more in the future
:)
I think to make the chaos more understandable the colour coding is great with the name. Maybe a splitscreen format for each team is the next thing to add? You could pause one part if it's too much, but it would help with immediately identifying which side is which, along with the colours.
1:07 oh don’t eat up Reddit like that queen go off
Gotta get back at Reddit LOL
reddit is a biggest internet dumpster after twitter
Mauga mauga mauga (wait this isn’t mauga???)
WE HAVE ESCAPED!!! NO MORE JUNO BRIG!!! MY SANITY IS RETURNING!!
I swear I feel like they will buff him soon for no reason 😂
@ his win rate is 49%, let’s give him and extra 50% critical dmg bonus 🥰💅😘🫶
@@pinguanethey should delete mauga holy
Lavender gotta be the goat with the amount of times I've heard he finishes a kill or gets a pick
He was my personal MVP when I was making this video, the guy doesn't even have a liquipedia page. He's crazy.
Don’t stop making content bro this is great. Once rivals’ honeymoon phase is gone people will come back and you’ll blow up 👍
Agree on the video quality, but ain't no way people gonna go back to ow after spending so long with rivals. Ow has to do some serious changes before people want to go back. There's a reason why rivals is doing really well still.
@@I.K.E.L.O.S Overwatch still relatively has the same amount of players, a lot of the success from Rivals is actually attributed to taking the casuals from disgruntled CoD players.
Goated video. Makes competitive so much easier to understand. Much love ❤
watching ocie helped me maintain top 500 in eu, i don’t play ow anymore but still amazing content to watch keep it up :3
Always a good day when a new comp overwatch analysis vid drops
Honestly Hazard comps look pretty fun I'd rather have Hazard meta than pretty much any other tank at this point. Props to blizzard for his design
ok so i think the teleport happened as he was already in the air, the wall being placed at the angle it was placed forced him downwards at an accelerated speed rather than launching him sideways due to the fact the hazard was already falling
Violet doesn't feed, he dies on purpose. Its all part of the strategy!
1st fight really shows the whole "not the most notable teams" point perfectly
Thanks for the amazing videos😊
Im a diamond ow player and i don’t care nor watch professional games but your videos fills me up with joy every time you upload
Hazard is so fast for a brawler. He jumps and starts brawling he can engage and disengage really fast.
Don't play the game anymore but still loosely follow the esport side. Your videos and analysis is always great and I enjoy watching
Omg 1am new ocie vid lets go sleep schedule who needs that?
being an early hazard believer is paying off. I love seeing him everywhere he's so fun🥰
Really enjoyed this format
ow content in my recommended in 2025 the year of rivals
I haven’t felt fun on tank in a while, used to love ball but then the whole lobby hard counters me and i cry, hazard has been so much fun to play
Ur voice sounds softer and softer too... nice progress queen 💖
its a man!
im excited for hazard comps. hopefully we see some more variations of teams. it is nice to see hero bans coming to owcs tho tbh
while the analysis as a whole is very interesting. the one gripe i have (not so much with you but more so the game) the way it sounds is that hazard is a better version of JQ, which to me is crazy that power creep is already effecting newer heroes in the game. great video as a whole tho!
JESSIE! DO NOT ABBREVIATE CRAZY PANDA ON THE OWCS STREAM! JESSIE!!!
Big fan of most of the new editing features
That’s cool. So who’s finished the Jeff event card?
Don't think i haven't noticed celeste music, fits all too well for u ❤
^_^
I think a top down view might help us be less confused with what is happening, but it might just be cause it’s new who knows
Top down view is something I like to use when I can, but I often have very little time to record footage (in this case I had 2 days to grab every POV while I was working on a different video so it was difficult). I agree that it's sometimes optimal to explain certain concepts or show things, but in this video's case (and many others) I often won't have the time or opportunity to get those shots. (Replay codes reset VERY often, sometimes days after a match is played, so it's legitimately difficult to do so).
@ no worries still an amazing video.👍 ty for the comment i feel touched lol, and hope you have a good day❤️
Idk if anyone else has called itt this, but given how volatile and sporadic Hazard is with that fast pace support, I like to call this the PunkHazard meta. If not for any other reason than to also reference one piece.
God I hate mauga mirrors, but Hazard and queen are just so electric with it, and those ultimate festivals are so fun to watch
oh man, overwatch... what a throwback
good times, once upon a time
"Heroes are not inherently dive or brawl"
Reinhardt: *coughs*
Reinhardt is definitely one of those heroes that has a less flexible playstyle. He can really only be used in Brawl/Slow compositions, and he's very uncommon in Slow compositions in OW2 (Ex. Bap Brig Ashe Tracer Reinhardt)
Beautiful bg music, thats from celeste, right?
Yes! Celeste, Rival of Aether, and Starcraft Brood War
Another season, another "safe side of strong" hero that defines the meta
Cuz he’s op as hell, nerf him or it’s just gonna Hazardwatch
Been playing Sojourn more in 6v6, and she works a lot better in that environment, but against Hazard I can see him without any barrier it is easy to build up Railgun and obviously escape when gets close
Can you make a video on what each hero's job is in the comp?
this is huge for the 50 remaining players
Ocie posted let's gooooo
This gameplay is so much more exciting to watch than orisa or mauga comps. Its going to be sad when Haz gets a (deserved) nerf.
I like how the Scotts man can climb walls but the monkey cant! Also I think Mauga should be able to fly with “Jett pack joy ride logic” and yes this is my application 4 overwatchs balance team. Team 4 you know you wanna.
the 7b soundtrack reminded me i still need to get that golden 😂 god tier video though
Hot take: Hazard has been the most fun hero since the release of ow 2. (Maybe JQ cause hitting knives is satysfying) that being said once again another hero I will struggle with on console cause he has so many buttons lmao to press
I kinda love juno lucio dive idk it’s so fast with a genji tracer and dive tank
"Windmill" why are you calling it by its fancy name, call it Well like the rest of us peasants lol. Also I swear I know Kalios from somewhere and I have no idea where. Epic Video Ocie ! excited for the next one!
I find it funny how you describe havoc as a chaotic composition 😅
Hi coach, I love your videos but sometimes the team fights can be confusing to understand holistically due to frequently cutting to player povs rather than the VOD reviews on stream which is much more about top-down high-level view. I think it would be easier to learn from these team fights if there was more time to understand the big picture and then use player povs to just look at the key micros. This is just my opinion as one viewer tho. Keep it up!
This is something that is sometimes difficult or even unachievable due to replay code wipes. In the case of this video I barely had enough time to grab the POVs before the replays were wiped, and if I do overhead shots, it's during the editing process. Codes had been dead for 3-4 days by that point. It's something I sometimes do if there is an opportunity, but trying to rush videos out along with the replay code schedule to get overhead shots is sometimes hard, and sometimes completely impossible.
great, comprehensive video
This could just be a skill issue on my part, but could you add an icon for who is attacking and defending like they have on the official broadcast?
Ocie still backpacking OW esports good on ya
my friends didn't understand hazard and said they don't see how hazard could tank when he doesn't have anything to protect his teammates
ill send them this video lol
why does some lucios punches while jumping? Does it extend the jump?
I don't think Lavender HAD to use Suzu at 12:53 as he was still at 162hp but I can understand it still
never eat, never sleep
Amazing content and the rivals of aether music too 🥰
I feel like nerfing hazard is pretty easy but it's also easy to gut him with one too many nerfs
He should be pretty easy to balance. He's well designed and is kinda like the 'Kiriko' of the Tank role, he can do a lot of everything. Heroes that are too useful tend to be easier to tune than heroes that have kits that are inherently less useful like Lifeweaver's.
@@Ocie_Esports I lowkey think nerfing his right click is enough. That makes his entire kit more risky to use and he wont be as oppresive since he can now actually get punished for plays
Honestly if it's Hazard being really good I do not mind. Mauga/Orisa Metas are like so boring and lame that I don't mind if another Tank becomes better than the others but actually requires the user to do a play that isn't just "Shoot enemy tank forever and never die because you have so much damage reduction".
I for one welcome Hazard to the Tank lineup.
Why is tracer so good in every single season during ow2 lifetime? She was never a bad pick in her worst she was like b teir
She's well designed and versatile. Also very easy to balance and adjust by changing numbers. She feels fair to play against and fun to play as so she tends to stay in the meta, which is usually pretty good for the game!
Fun fact hazard is also hard meta in the 6v6 tests.
To be clear (since it was brought up directly), the reason why you in particular getting things wrong was bad, is because the premise is youre a coach, generally the arbitor of knowledge and you incorrectly presented something as if it was correct.
Im not saying its fair, but if youre a higher level coach/analyst youre also held to a higher standard.
To be fair, I'm a former/retired Coach and currently a Caster. Coaches who are actually in the scene and actively scrimming T2+ are going to know more than me, and will have the most up to date knowledge. Ever since I retired from coaching I've wanted to shift away from the 'Coach' aspect of my brand, that's why my username doesn't include 'Coach' and only the @ contains it for search optimization purposes. Yes, I have worked with team like Lavalillies, but these are very low level teams, I do not consider that professional level by any means.
I have experience and knowledge, but I'm always one step behind in the scene, because I'm simply not a coach anymore. Even back when I posted that video, the Description and About Me say 'Former Coach'. I get where you are coming from, but remember that I'm not an active coach in the professional scene anymore, and haven't been since FACEIT League Season 1 with Quick eSports.
My goat posts again, does she ever miss?
Hi, 3 am, thank you for the video ♡♡♡
He was already overtuned before release and they buffed him even further... Not a surprise.
