I used to be just like you every day was a challenge to see how much I could do, then when I got to 60 my back went, I have had back surgery but never been able to go back to the building trade which I really miss, this is not a sob story or a lecture I’m just trying to say take care, when you are young we all believe that we are indestructible but it can soon go wrong, take care mate great you tube channel.

Yrs ago they outlawed 50 k bags of cement and made them 25k, now they make the footing blocks bigger with no regard to the poor bricky, all in the name of net zero

Should be building some thin polythene in to cover the brickwork always good practice most sites worked always wanted it. Also always do on privates. Makes my life when come to roughcast or render it. 🤙🤙🤙
Izzy, if trading standards catch that van, they will have it for being overloaded by the look of it. Could even prohibit the van from moving until the weight is reduced and a big fine to match. Not worth overloading it mate. Keep up the good work.

Hiya mate, no I don't... sometimes when I top out a job (gables) I put my name and date on the last brick I lay on the job... but had really cool thought. Perhaps leaving notes, a date and channel members names on a paper and putting it into the build 😊 what do you think?😊

They allow you to set out the cavity at the same time as the face. So you can just plumb up from the face of it, for face work. And the back of it, for internal blocks

@@englishrifleman6556 so we run out bricks to avoid the half brick in the middle. Start at one end, running full bricks all the way. Sometimes measurements don't work to our brick sizes. This is when we either open up the perp joints, or tighten them up. This allows us to make sure we have no half's

Hiya mate, soak always are a bit naff. We always go into the drains if it's mixed water waste. Alot of time, soak always actually don't work and they just hold water and flood the gardens
Can't agree izzy. It depends on the ground. I live in an area of heavy clay to ballast. I no of houses built in the 50s with 3ft cube soakaway that still work now
