  • A short film documenting the processes of making multiple tie-dyes at once. A visual step by step process set to the soothing music of Claude Debussy's 'Claire de Lune'.
I used Hanes Perfect T's with a mix of Grateful and Dharma Procyon dyes. The shirts are saturated in a soda ash solution I make using water and Arm and Hammer 'Super Soda Wash' for about an hour.
Spun dry the shirts then go through a tying process. Once tied, the shirts undergo an immersive experience of ice and water, glorifying the color pallet.
After curing for 24 hours I use massive amounts of water and Dawn dish soap to end the curing process and finalize the colors migration into the cotton's world. After many washes the shirts are displayed for your viewing pleasure.
I hope the silent walkthrough helps you and entertains. We here at Eclipse Tiedye plan to continue to just, 'Shutup and Dye'.
