My wife and I absolutely loving your content. You seem so happy doing creative things around your home. Most people would go and and buy coloured frames and vases but we do what you do. Why pay a fortune for a certain colour in an item when you can paint / restore your own things . Love that you and Joe so very down to earth and lovely. Keep it up both and don’t ever change .

Upholstered is the word your looking for on the chairs. You should use regular paint on the wood of the chair. It should cover better & in less coats. I would suggest measuring the wood bits & going to the hardwear store. They can usually cut the wood for you & you can replace the rotted pieces. Then when you paint it all it should match fairly well.

I think you need to replace all the wood on those chairs. You can take off all the old pieces and put new ones on. Use the old ones to measure what size you will need. You could then paint the wood, stain it, or leave it. If you're not liking the finish of the paint try taking a wire brush or some steel wood to sand off some of the rust and paint them again.

The chairs reminded me of an old garden bench where I used to live. OH's mum sat on it and went straight through the middle. She wasn't best pleased but I laughed HARD 😆 Those metal frames are gorgeous, they just need a good cleaning and the wooden slats can easily be replaced. It wouldn't take a whole lot of work to have the chairs looking like new for wherever you choose to put them.

coconut oil is great for removing makeup btw! i just have it on my bedside table with some tissues and then i can remove my makeup even when i'm about to literally pass out lol. it's also not irritating for the eyes at all. make sure you get one that's not completely rock solid though, makes it easier!

once the chairs are repaired, if you stain & polish them to match the table & benches it will look like a full dining set, with the two garden chairs placed at the ends like Carver chairs, You could always put what they call an indoor/outdoor rug under the table area to protect the floors, those pads tend to keep dropping off, so a nice big boho rug, giving it a lovely splash of colour would look great under the table area ... sorry, just putting my twopenneth in, l love interior design.... you go girl....

Yes, the wooden slats/boards can be replaced & yes I knew you meant upholstered for the cushions. The chairs do look good & will look even better once repaired & finished the way you want them! Also, You might want to get some metal or felt table leg /chair leg knobs(sliders) or maybe furniture coasters/gliders to help keep the floor from scuffing. I know chairs will be amazing once you're finished with them & they do go well with your table.

Dianne. The wood on those chairs are totally rotten and probably have woodworm in them. You need to take them back outside until they have been treated otherwise they may infect your beautiful benches & table. I suggest that you completely take them apart & get a carpenter to make you new wooden slats. Get the cast iron sides sandblasted which will give a better base to paint them. I agree they are definitely worth saving and will look lovely in your conservatory.

Diane make sure you get some soft sticky circles to put on the feet of the outdoor chairs so that they don’t scratch the floor!
You can actually buy replacement slats for this type of chairs - great way to keep them going. Just look online.
